Rear stabilizer bracket

Found this today, the left rear stabilizer bar bracket hanging loose with the bushing relocated. Any ideas what could make this happen? Roughly 27K on a 2014 Hurricane 34E.

Nothing really causes it.
A bolt backed out.
Replace BOTH bushings with urethane bushings if you can. They make a lot of difference in sway.
Replace the holder/retainer/cap with one having a grease zerk on it.
The grease zerk isn't needed, but it might cure a squeek you couldn't find.

It's not a big thing.
It's just a thing.
Not trauma related.

Those bolts have been known to loosen on multiple F53 chassis RVs. As Duck said, fix it and move on to the next adventure.

Buy new Polyurethane bushing. Rebolt the bracket using blue loctite and torque to 66 ft lbs

Fix it soon or the motion of the bar will break the bracket. If you weren’t unhappy with the handling just buy a new bolt and loctite it in. Check regularly as it happens with maddening regularity.

Thanks guys for all the input. New bracket, bushings and bolts are here. 66 ft lbs seemed low. Especially if vibrating loose is an issue. It seems GM has changed their torque values for the M12grade 10.9 bolt to 92 ft. lbs.

The numbers quoted in previous posts are for a Ford F53 chassis. If you have a GM workhorse it may be different torque specs.

Nope. We have F53 chassis. But a 12 x 1.75 grade 10.9 bolt is the same across platforms and manufacturers. I'm a long time aircraft mechanic, so I have a pretty good working knowledge of hardware.

On my 2015 F-53 chassis, both bolts came off with the clamp and bushings. Happened when it was still on 5 year Ford warranty, so fixed at no cost. Yours may be out of warranty, however, would check with a Ford truck dealer. Parts should be in stock.

If you use Loctite, do not torque the bolt to the stated value. That value is for the dry thread torque setting. Wet thread torque setting will be lower. Otherwise you will over torque the threads.

do you put any lubricant or silicone spray on the new bushing? Or just install it as is from the package?

Use soapy water to lube them not anything else.

Shin Etsu grease is urethane safe.

Use a non petroleum lube. Vegetable oil works great!

Thanks, I am having my truck service install this. Not aligning properly.

I was able to have this issue fixed by a local truck service center. After a little adjustment, the bushing got installed. Mechanic said, there were signs the bushing was originally installed, but had been missing for a while.

So, who pays for all this... I called FORD and they advised me to take all my receipts to any local FORD dealer and talk to the Service Manager. He made copies of all my receipts, ( New bushing and service install fee).

That was nice of FORD!

Not sure i can detect any difference is stability of the RV now. It is pretty rock solid back there. No swaying or rolling back there.

If it is a Chevy chassis I bet the Ford dealer gives him a hard time but refuses to pay for it. Just a thought.

The ACE is on the F53 chassis. I wouldn't think FORD would pay for a Chevy chassis repair?
