RecPro problem

We installed RecPro recliners approximately 3 years ago. This photo shows what has happened over the summer. We've only been able to make two limited trips this year. Any suggestions on what we can do to prevent further problems would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.Click image for larger version

Not sure what you can do to stop it from getting worse. Mine only lasted 2 years. Recpro sent me 2 new backs to replace the bad ones

At first they said I had to buy them at a cost of $ 150 each but ended up warranting them for me

Now I keep them covered with a blanket to keep the sun off them

Ours are worse, arms and foot rest are falling apart.
Pretty sure we're finished with "RV" furniture, shopping for recliners like in the sticks & bricks OR get the RecPro recovered with some quality marine grade material.
The Thor couch actually lasted longer, recover or replace it at the same time

My GF bought the RecPro recliner sectional pieces 3 years ago and we've had some minor peeling in wear spots. Right by where I pull the reclining lever, and on a console table. We keep blinds closed when we are not there, I put a towel behind me because the vinyl fabric doesn't breathe and is sticky where we have it in NW FL. RecPro recommends 303 interior protectant, which we didn't use. The mechanisms are all working well, they have a beefy structure. For my new Omni I replaced the crappy thor installed "incliner" with the Recpro theater seating /sofa BUT in fabric. The seating is very comfortable actually reclines and great for naps.

You might try cleaning and treating with the recommended 303. I'm going to get some and see if it delays any further peeling.

We used 303 several times a year and are still getting the flaking. Looks terrible. I guess my next recliners will be cloth.

Definitely no cats! Rv is stored in a building when not on the road.

Another solution is residential furniture such as LazyBoy, or Best Brand. Look for wall hugging design that the backs come off for installation into the RV door. Problem with that though is you will have a hard time finding such furniture actually in stores and you will have to order. I talked to LB and Best and they said it would be several, 5-8 months to get it. I'm not buying something I can test-sit in.

Anybody having same flaking issue with Shop 4 Seats products?

I'm thinking about S4S because it has a full couch option when the two seats are not in the reclined position.

Thanks for all the response. Makes me regret recommending RecPro to others.

We have Thomas Payne recliners. We bought recliner covers at Wally World $35 each. They are microfiber and look and feel nice.

Our recliners from shop4seats are a year old and look brand new. We cover with blankets when not I use.

We bought the Recpro recliners and took out the original sofa.
Our choice was a fabric and not the vinyl finish.
This is year 1 and all is good so far.

They offered a sample selection for like a buck & that's what we did.

Thanks

If it's not a $399K or more coach then the materials used in the upholstery is junk. Use it up and when it starts to go to crap take your rig to a trusted upholstery shop and make a deal to have them recover all your furniture in the dead of Winter. You're not using it and they are slow that time of year. They can put in the good quality stuff you like and issue you a guarantee. Pay for it, you will be glad you did. Nothing makes you more upset than paying $100K plus for a rig and in the first 2 years the furniture peels.

Bonded leather and Pleather imitations don't last long

Ours luckily were Pleather and look like new 6 years down the road even with the puppy

I do use 303 or Lexol primarily for UV

Use the Lexol conditioner/ cleaner on the vehicles as well as 303 depending on the detailing

No special covering or other care in the Tuscany

At the homes, top grain leather only furniture, learned it was the cheapest by far in the long game many years back

Our Omni XG32 has the Thomas Payne theatre seating and after a year and a half no issues. The recliners are electric with power recline, heat and massage and are very comfortable.
I think the only down side is they're very expensive, fortunately our RV came with them.
