Refrigerator travel

Question about traveling. Site where MH stored is not level or any power. Most camping trips are about 1 hour so not real concern on frig. Planning on a all day travel trip. Wondering what is a correct refrig power travel.
Thks
Rick

Run it on propane, that's what it's there for regardless of what the nay-sayers will say.

Absolutely run on propane, just make sure you turn it off before fueling. You also need a small battery operated fan to go in the refrigerator, helps to circulate air and cool better.

You don't have to be perfectly level to run the refrig on LP, but there is a limit. I've read just 3 degrees side to side and 6 degrees front to back. More than that could cause damage.

Many run theirs on the road, and some never do. Should you have a bad accident, you will wish that LP valve was off.

If it's not too hot and you don't open the door too much, try leaving it off after pre- cooling. We have a small digital fridge thermometer in ours.

Always switch it off at gas stations!

It is ok to run it on propane during travel but remember there is an open flame there thus turn it off when fueling.

Another option: set it to run on 120V and run the genny if you don't like having the propane valve open during travel. Sure its less efficient but it is somewhat safer--in addition, if its hot out you can also run the rooftop air.

If you have a residential fridge, using the inverter is the only way to go unless you run the generator while traveling which would make little sense unless you are having inverter/house battery issues.
