Remove wheel covers (hub caps)
Hello all, I have a 2017 vegas 24.1 and cannot figure out how to remove those shiny wheel covers. I have seen some videos that say 2 of the fake lug nuts actually unscrew. Not really seeing that on my unit. I believe they need to be removed the same way as a hub cap on a car (prying them off). Just don't want to try that and chance bending it up if it's not the correct method.
Any ideas?

Depending on what kind of wheel, lug nuts pull off. Cap some times slips out the middle when the wheel is off. Pictures would really help.
Good luck

So look at the nut covers carefully, you will see on the side of 2 of them an indentation. This is the removeable nut, almost like a dent in the nut cover.

I have had both types of simulators on motor homes. My Fleetwood had ones that were held on like traditional hub caps. My Thor has the kind with the two fake lugs holding the simulator on. If you have a T-handled wrench that came with the coach, try that on the lugs.

Remove wheel covers
Thank you all for your help. I checked for indentations on the nut covers but don't see any. I also checked for the tool but did not find that either. We bought this from a private seller. I believe if there was one it would be in the motorhome somewhere. He was really great about that. I will look again just to make sure. I hesitate to try prying them off and risking damage.

Find a socket that fits the nuts. Gently try to loosen each one. Mine are 19.5. 3 are real nuts that unscrew. The 3 that are real have 2 notches in each. If all else fails, call the seller.

They pry off with a screwdriver.
A slight pry and it will literally jump off.
What's the plan when you remove the cover?
Can you get the cap back on without instruction?
Does the underlying reason to remove the cap require knowledge or skill?
(Because now is the time to ask)

no worries, i was over at the RV this morning for a tire pressure leak, I just happened to take a few pictures. Once those 3 nuts come off, the chrome cover comes right off.

yea Squid, but i still got the tire pressure leak issue... at the valve stem....ugh
I saw that tool in the storage compartment when i purchased the RV. I bet the most common question is "what is this tool used for"? It sits there today.....
Out comes my 1/2 socket and ratchet set.

Have you checked to be sure the valve core is tight? Walmart sells a Schrader valve tool kit.
If the core is not loose, it may have a small piece of dirt keeping it from sealing properly. They are easy (and cheap) to replace.

Remove wheel covers (hub caps)
I see what the pics are showing but not on my wheel covers. My reason for taking them off is to reattach the bracket that holds the valve extension.

I think they both pry of , for sure the top picture comes off with a cap puller or large screwdriver.

If you have basic simulators with no lugs holding them on...
If there's balance weights on the edge of the wheel rim, start with a jumbo sized flat head screwdriver beside the weight... you'll notice a slight gap to get the blade in.
Slowly work your way around, twisting/prying. You'll reach a point less than halfway it will pop off.
To get it back on I hold the simulator in tight with one hand on the center... then use a rubber mallet to whack the edge back on, gradually working around the edge.
For some reason the front driver side on mine is a problem child... probably slightly bent.
