Generator codes

2015 ACE 30.1 with Onan 4000 generator, decided to exercise it yesterday first time in months, I know but I was lazy. Took a few tries to start then the rpm was up and down then after about a minute or so died. Did this a couple times and got the same results.
Next to the start button on the generator it lists two codes three flashes for "needs service" and four flashes for "over crank." What I have is three flashes, pause and then six flashes. The way it runs I am guessing it is not getting enough fuel. It has plenty of oil and ran fine the last time we needed to use it. Thanks in advance, Jim.

P.S. I looked through the owners manual and could not find anything helpfull.

Ethanol gas evaporated and left a varnish on the carb. You’ll need to clean or replace the carb.

Look up YouTube videos by Project Farm about how Ethanol pits aluminum. Combine that with varnish/gum in the carb bowl...

That's your governor trying to control the engine speed with a gummed up carburetor until the control board says "the heck with this" and shuts it down.

Now you know one of the reasons to do the monthly maintenance.

Unless you have experience cleaning and rebuilding carburetors, you should probably replace it or have someone handle it for you.
