Replace JRV9000 Radio
I sure need lots of help, please. My JRV900 has decided that it will only work when I Press the menu button for any option I wish. So that being said, I need a replacement radio with 3 camera input, and nav, sirius , and I would prefer it to be more like the chevy 2019 radio, where I can connect to waze navigation and or more android apps. Any suggestions??????

Your phone isn't needed except as maybe a Hotspot so the radio head can access the internet if you don't have a whole rv router.
Apps work independently.
It's a complete android system unto itself.
It will even do things offline that your phone will like work with Google maps you have predownloaded.
We have an app, radar now, that usually runs on it.
The 9.0(maybe as low as 8.1 version) and higher Android will do split screen so we can have
Windy
And
RadarNow
Showing at the same time.
We keep waze on an easier to reach device. We like to participate in waze and mark/U mark roadhazards and police and such. It's either on a phone or on a $110 10 inch android tablet.
The head will also do
Police scanner
In the background.
I think post 111 in my signature thread shows a bunch of rv specific apps which we can use on the radio head.
https://www.thorforums.com/forums/sh...&postcount=111
It'll do ANYTHING your phone can but on a 10.1 inch screen.
(I think some of these head units even take a Sim card.)

JRV9000 radio
Ducksface, do you perhaps have a model # for the radio you got. I have been racking my brain on Amazon and find so many eonon radio's. Not sure what specific size I would need for my 2014 Thor Hurricane. My Jensen is now D E A D. Today it jumped to AM stations when I turned it on then jumped to FM. The pictures of your radio are just what I want a new one to do for me. I am after android. Thanks for your help

I don't know your dash configuration if it's a class b/c or has the Thor class A dash.
If it's the Thor dash ANY double din radio wlll fit. If it's a factory dash, a quick look on the web will tell you double din, din.5 or single din. All this just means the size of the hole in your dash. All else is the same except maybe a smaller screen on a single din.
Eonon isn't the top of the line end all, I have it because I have an 10 year older very mechanical eonon in an offroader and it puts up with all the dust and offroad stuff.
It is an 8 inch screen that pushes itself out of the radio, turns 90°, stands up, then angles back. It has dust on/in it like a dining table in a Disney haunted house movie. And it's been flawless.
There a few other brands one has a name like dogdog or something which gets good reviews.
There's a young man named Nguyen (I think Nguyen radio review as a search term will find him) on youtube who does installations and reviews of various brands in the 2 to 4 hundred radio heads.
There are also radios having 13 inch screens and they'll rotate from landscape to portrait.
Internally and externally , I don't think there's a one percent difference to any of the 10.1 heads.
Android is the heart, the screens are the same and the things they do are identical.
An android radio head does what an android tablet will do. Almost exactly. Same screen, same software,
The radio head is just a way to get the tablet to fit in your dash.

JRV9000 radio replace
Ducksface,
I am wondering when you replaced your radio with the Eonon did you have 1 backup camera and 1 each mirror camera? And did you need any special cables to interface the cameras? the following is what Eonon wrote me regarding the 3 camera inputs
If your three cameras are independent interfaces, our car radio cannot support three reversing camera inputs at the same time. If your three cameras can be integrated into one interface using a converter Our car radio can support their simultaneous input.
Can you help me with this? my RV is a Thor Hurricane Class A 2014.
I am sorry I am really ignorant on the radios
Thank you

Your three cameras are handled by a seperate control box.
The box picks the camera and sends the picture to the one input on the radio.
Any radio only needs one input.
The box is under that panel above your speedometer. The radio doesn't know if it's a turn signal or a backup camera or a TV that coming in.
So,
You only need one input on the radio.

JRV9000 radio replace
Thank you Duck, more questions tho. I have an android phone and the radio will need an android auto dongle AO585 (Amazon $54.99) to connect with the phone and I will purchase the Eonon GA 2187 or 2188, Will the radio pretty much be a plug and play. I am NOT real radio connection savvy. And I know there is NOT much room for hands at and behind the radio cavity. My console area is real similuar to yours. Thanks again for the rapid reply

The picture is of the back of the controller I built/rebuilt/modified.
It allows me to remotely operate the black and gray tank valves electrically, turn the water on to my tornado tank cleaners remotely, operate the macerator remotely. All with indicator Lights and their own circuit breaker, a voltage meter and a light and a 12v accessory plug. It sits(still) on my dedicated bench along with my soldering station in the background, meters and 3 to 26volt power supplies.
So, I'm as capable as the average guy.
All that said:
I paid $100 to a stereo install place to have the radio installed.
I came to their shop, left the rv there, walked to Dennys, had a burger and came back in an hour and my radio was installed and the short in my driving lights (that I couldn't find and had casually mentioned to them) was found and fixed.
Some things just don't pay to do yourself.
Some people here have said their radio was plug and play.
Mine was spliced together from scraps of wire maybe found on the floor of Thor's shop.
I can't say heartily enough how sure I am of going to a stereo shop being your best path.

JRV9000 radio replace
Thank you Duck, I think it may best if I pay someone to install the radio after I purchase it. I'm not too swift with schematics.

I’m not familiar with either radio so probably not much help. I recently replaced my radio with a Kenwood and it was pretty straightforward. My unit did not have a nifty multi pin connector. Each wire was individually connected. But each was clearly marked and I’d bet you could handle it. Still, there is something to be said for letting the pros do it! My contribution to the discussion would be to select a new radio that permits remote driver control. My eyes aren’t what they used to be and my radio placement is such that making any adjustment to the radio required bending over and taking my eyes well and truly off the road. I recently added controls that I can reach while driving and it has become my new favorite mod!

JRV9000 radio replace
Thank you Pete, the Eonon radio has a tilt up and down and side ways, the only thing that concerns me at this point is I have to have a dongle to accept my android phone but doesn't look too hard to install. I am just kind of ignorant about schematics. So I may have to have the radio professionally installed. My eyes are also not as great as they once were. The Jensen radio is only a 7 inch screen and tne Eonon is a 10 inch screen. So it should help me a lot. I will keep everyone posted on the install and use, but maybe not till spring.

Radio controls that attach to your steering wheel like factory controls are pretty cheap.
And
The bonus of it is those buttons are programmable to suit you and they will run other things along with your radio.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0778...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There are dozens of different ones available.
I don't have one.
I have alexa in my radio head and it does things by voice.
But
We seldom to never use it.
We set up the home page screen on the radio head using a car-Centric app(I thinks it called Car Launcher Pro) and it has big programmable touch screen buttons.
And
Post 78 in my signature thread shows my overhead displays for maps and the cameras.
And
I think atoto has an eonon type radio head but with a 13 inch screen which can rotate to landscape or portrait. Same internals, just a 13 inch screen.
Atoto(or however yo spell it) is an honorable company with good equipment.
And
Semi relatedly :
If you have the bedroom mounted Jensen radio, there's an app to use your phone as a remote control.

JRV9000 radio replace
Duck, I am still confused. my existing radio a Jensen jrv9000 has 3 camera inputs going to 1 port. (cameras 1,2,3) You said that the Eonon would support all 3 cameras with the 1 port. Does yours turn to the left camera when the left turn signal is selected and so forth? Would I need to get a connector that would look like a W with a tail per say? to connect the 3 camera inputs to the 1 input on the radio? I don't want to get another Jensen radio as this is the second one in 6 years. But I do need the turn signal cameras since my rig is a Class A 32'.

I don't know anything about Jensen.
I know the axxera radios have one input and an external control box.
I can look tomorrow for the brand of control box.
I think someone here once said they are $24.

I looked and my controller doesn't have a name on it.
But
The thing in the link is what you need.
Since it's a Jensen brand, I'm unsure if your Jensen radio really has three inputs or if it has this controller.
If you have the thing in the link, you're set. If you don't, you'll need one.
Not neccasarily this one, but one that does what this one does.

JRV9000 radio replace
Thanks, Duck, I really want to get away from the Jensen radio since I have had 2 that screwed up in the last 6 years. And I haven't used them very much. The Jensen has everything installed with the radio. (plug and play) So that being said I would need the controller to get 3 cameras working, right. I really hate to keep bothering you with my problem, but you are the best recourse I have now

JRV9000 radio replace
Thank you Duck, the Eonon will give 3 gifts with the purchase of the GA2188 radio, 1 is a backuo camera and one is a dash camera. confusing as it is both would work with the radio. So why would not 3 cameras. I guess I will have to get the converter to get 3 camera inputs, Guess i just hate to pay and extra $100 for it on top of the $380 I will spend n the Radio and dongle.
