Replacement Dash Toggle Switch

I searched a bunch of different terms and couldn't find the answer to this. I hope I'm not the only one here that needs it but one of my dashboard toggle switches broke.

The plastic tabs for the Gen Start switch seem to have broken and it periodically falls off. The switch still works, just the cover falls off. Anyone know where to source these?

My rig is a 2018 model year.

I believe those are Contura style switches. Try searching on Amazon.

I removed the switch from the dash panel to see if there were any model numbers on the switch itself.

V8D1 with some other characters 1652 R

V8D1 is indeed the Contura V series of switches (thanks Chateau_Nomad) but finding one with the same style of actuator has so far yielded zero results.

I called Thor and spoke with them. They sent me a screenshot of their parts catalog but said they were out of stock and had been waiting three months for the supplier to deliver a shipment. This thing is IMPOSSIBLE to find online and I'll keep looking. Sharing the part information here in case others are looking.

The link from Amazon I’m going to post… Is the same brand and exact fit for the dash… I have used two of these… What I do not know is if they are the appropriate amps for the generator starter… You should be able to get the part number off yours compared to the link I share… Look up a spec… And then you should be golden. Good luck, supply chain challenges are in every industry.

That switch will NOT work as a replacement for the Generator Start/Stop/Prime switch.

I thought the same as Ace. What is posted is simply an on/off switch. The gen switch is 3 way. You may have to start it from outside until you can get the proper switch.

Sounds like it's just a snap-on cover, not the entire switch (with contact terminal etc.). If this is the case, maybe any cheap Contura switch cover with a lens for the light may work? Can you snap one of the other switch covers (beside it) on?

But I agree... the entire switch is NOT a run of the mill switch. But it sounds like that's not the problem.

Exactly...but I'm being particular and want the rocker to match the others.

As others have said, the link Cakeman shared won't work as I need a 6 pole, 20amp switch. I was able to find that, just not the matching rocker.

Not a 6 pole switch either - it has 6 connections.

It's actually a single pole, double throw, spring return to center toggle switch with indicator light.

There are probably thousands of those at 10¢ each in a parts bin in Elkhart Indiana. So close... yet so far away.

Have you considered the 3D printing route? Just a thought...

We ordered this switch from Thor in October and we have yet to receive it. I last spoke with Thor in late January and they reached out to the vendor (Hammer Plastics) for an update. I've searched everywhere for a replacement and have had no luck. Chris at Thor told me there are many folks waiting for this switch.

I have the same problem. Mine falls of while driving due to the vibration. My solution will be 'super glue' once I get back home.

As a couple other folks have mentioned, my sunshade switch fell off a few times after I first got the RV. I was able to super glue it back on with no issues for 18 months now, I imagine it depends on how it was broken.

Those are standard switch’s in a freightliner chassis, what chassis is yours based on? Take the switch to that chassis dealer and they should have one.

He's got a gas Class A. Those switches are NOT Ford parts.
