Right front suspension noise

Drove back from 2 week trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn yesterday and noticed a clanging and grinding noise coming from the front passenger wheel, every time we hit a bump or rut in the road. Got progressively worse over the 7 hour drive and every little bump caused it to occur....sounded like the wheel was going to fall off. Thankfully we got home safe last night!

Going out to look at it now but wanted to know if anyone else had this problem with the F53 chassis?

You might want to check out the post from fivekitties regarding the wheel bearing issue on the Windsport.

Thanks Dave,

Just finished reading that and other posts and am convinced it is the shock tower bolt, only rattles when RV is in the air after a bump. I will definitely be checking the spinning of the wheels (front) today as well to check the bearings. I did notice when refueling yesterday the driver's side wheel was radiating heat.

Huy, I can't even blame Thor for this one!

Thanks for you help!

Update - Jacked up front end so wheels off ground = Right (Psg) Upper Bilstein shock mount was very, very loose! Tightened it with a wrench and have to buy a new Torque wrench as mine tops out at 150 psi. Also tightened the driver's side, which was only a little loose.

Also, checked both wheels for ease of spin. Took off hubcaps, wheel bearing dust covers, checked bearings = OK (no burnt smell but very, very little grease!!! ) Repacked bearings and both wheels went from turning about 1.5 times to turning 4 times with the same force!!

Easy fix that required little effort. FYI!
