No! Just start scrubbing with the brush.
We wintered in central Florida a couple winters that in about a week the roof would be nearly black from the smog, humidity & heavy dew every morning & parking under the trees just made it worse, this procedure was the best, inexpensive, easy to do & worked great.

I like this for RV's so you don't have to polish the whole thing twice with compound and then a polish. For something new like what you are working on you would want a blue or white foam pad. Also 12oz goes a pretty long way!

As far as protection, there are a lot of options. If it were me I would use Graphene Spray / concentrate, and then use Rise + Coat any time I wash the RV. Links can be found below.
