Roof/running light replacement & sealant

What kind of sealant is recommended when replacing the light covers for these lights on top of cab/roof?
And has anyone replaced these little lights with LED, or would that work?

2016 Siesta 24ST---- Local Mobile RV shop here replaced my clearance lights with LED. He used silicone sealant. These were the lights he used.https://www.amazon.com/Kaper-II-L04-.../dp/B017YS7YOA

Thank you, my husband put the lights & covers on and sealed with a silicone sealant. Hopefully that will work!
