Rotate Tires?
As I was walking around the couch the other day. I took a good look at the tires. They only have about 10,000 miles on them, but I am wondering: Do I need to rotate or switch around the rears? Can I just move the inside rear to the outside and visca versa?
I bet there are about 300 replies somewhere on this forum that address this, but I'm betting one of you really experienced people will help me out!

The tires will end up getting replaced long before there is any appreciable wear (ours: replaced all 6 after 4 seasons and 14k miles) thus really don't need to rotate them.
Unless you're putting 20k+ a year on the coach I wouldn't worry about it.

This was just covered about a week ago. Do a search and you should come across almost 50 answers. Search "Tire Rotation"

Follow the Mfgr's recommendtion and the 50 opinions won't matter. It's in the owners manual.

I can't find anything in my 29M owner's manual about tire rotation.
Your model and mine aren't that different...what does your manual say?

In my case the outer wheel is aluminum and the inner wheel is steel...hope they enjoyed those very few dollars they saved. I would have to split them up which the manual says not to do...plus it would involve reversing the rotation on the tires which isn't a good idea. I will just keep good eyes on the wear, inflate/deflate accordingly and let them stay in the original position.

I thought I read the Ford manual cover to cover too, but I guess I need to go back through it.

Why were they replaced after 4 seasons? Do they dry rot that quickly?

Yes. Discovered this 1/2 way through a vacation and replaced all 6 before we returned home. (Was planning on replacing them after this season anyway.)

Smart they were dry rotted and dangerous. Suggestion: buy covers for tires to protect from sun and elements!

I coat my tires with 303 at least 3 or 4 times a year.

For those who store your RV on grass or dirt...this is the worse thing you can do. It causes dry rot quicker than the sun will.

We park our 23-U, The Bettye on a gravel driveway, but I have four, 3/4 in plywood squares that I drive the tires on to. I was told this is better than leaving them on gravel. Also, when we travel, I can use them as nice forms for the jacks to level the coach on. Good for grass or muddy areas.

What about asphalt? Worth putting wood or rubber pavers underneath for the winter?

Asphalt and concrete are OK. We've been doing that for years.

Jamie,
Did you stay with the same Michelin's that your 24.1 Vegas came with? Tires are a bit of a cost item and we are now in our 4th season. Our original plans were to decide on keeping or changing out the RV before 54 months of ownership.

I don't have any of the paperwork (or the RV for that matter) here so I can't be sure but I think our new tires were/are Cooper tires. The tire shop that sold us the tires said that the Michelin's were known for rotting like that (at that point I didn't really have a choice since we were trying to get home so they could have sold me balsa wood tires for all I knew). The tire shop was recommended by Cherry Hill Park so I'd like to think they were somewhat honest. (I do know that the tire shop didn't have replacement Michelin's in stock.)
Here is where they sent us:
https://ddtires.com/
Not how I wanted to make the tire purchase (would rather have had the time to do some research first).
Have to say, however, that the tires have performed well so far.

Jamie,
Thanks for the info. I went out and check the easy to see parts of the tires, the sidewalls look good there.
I saw a camera with the lens on a flexible arm for around $40. Might just be the next gadget needed, lots of tough to get to and/or look at places in the RV.

As a followup: Just got back from the camper and they are Cooper tires. Specifically these tires:
