Question Mouse droppings

Just picked up our first motorhome(had a 5th wheel) it's used but in great shape. My wife was doing a thorough cleaning and noticed old mouse turds in a couple of drawers( never found any in our 5th wheel). Does anybody have a GOOD solution for keeping them out? Thanks

They nest behind the drawers and in compartments (sewer drain areas)... set traps at once. Pull the bottom drawers and check for them. Tractor Supply sells a rodent repellent that seems to work well. I think it is called Fresh Cab. But first you have to get them out. I had them get in ours once and killed one, drove the rest out. Yuk.

Snuggle

We had a problem with mice in our RV. My wife's best friend recommended spreading snuggle fabric softener sheets around the RV. This has proven to be very effective especially when we put it in storage. The smell can get pretty intense after awhile, but it goes away fairly quickly.

Your best bet, if possible, is to keep the mice from entering the RV. Seal up every possible entry. Use spray foam and/or stainless steel wool to seal it up or tack some additional tarp underneath. Where you park is also a contributor. I noticed that when I parked my RV on a drive next to the woods, got mice in the unit. When I parked in my driveway which is not next to the woods, no mice. Placing traps in the unit should just be an additional safety net with the goal of not trapping any.

Steel wool ( SOS Pads also work) in cracks and crevices, also get a multi pac of Irish Spring bath soap and just open one end of the package leaving the bar in the package and place where ever you think they may enter, wet bay, engine compartment gennie box etc. and livestock medicated ear tags for keeping the bugs out of backside of refer, water heater and furnace vents and areas..

Numero Uno Gato solution

Bring a couple cats with you. You will never see a mouse or sign of a mouse. When RV is not being used, leave a cat bed or two in the RV or anything else they sleep on for that matter.

We have always had least two cats RVing with us since 1993. We've never had any kind of vermin problem. That includes months long outdoor storage. Just the scent is enough to keep them away.

I had mice, caught many of them, left out poison but still had mice.

I finally got under the MH with a can of spray foam and sealed up all the cracks I could find. Still had the occasional mouse. I realized there was a small space where the power cord comes into the MH so I made a metal cover to block the space around the power cord.

Whoopie! No more mice. Haven't had any for several years.

Glad your mice are gone. I thought that I would comment on the poison however. The danger with poison in a RV is the possibility of a mouse dying in a place inaccessible to humans without extensive disassembling of the RV. The other option being to stay out of the RV until the decomposing mouse stops stinking.
