We have a 2014 Thor Four Winds 28Z that we bought used. It had significant oxidation on the drivers side along with the front and rear surfaces. I tried buffing different types of waxes and cleaners several times to remove the oxidation and restore the shine. We even had it detailed. After each of these attempts it looked good for a couple of months but the oxidation came back.

I just finished a 2-day process of applying Poly Glo and the camper has never looked better. Most of the process is preparing the surfaces. First washing, then using their Poly Prep and scrubbing with the supplied Scotch-Brite pad. I needed to use their Poly Ox on the areas with heavier oxidation to achieve a uniform finish. The next day I wiped down the surfaces with glass cleaner to remove any water marks. Once dry, I applied 6-coats of Poly Glo. Poly Glo is applied using their supplied mitt. The first coat absorbs into the surface and looks pretty flat. After the 3rd coat the shine becomes more apparent. Each coat dries in 2-3 minutes. I found it was best to apply while in the shade so the product dries slower. Poly Glo claims it will last about 12 months and you will only need to wash and re-apply 2-3 coats of Poly Glo the following year to maintain the shine. I used the whole bottle of Poly Glo on the 28' motor home for reference. I still have a half bottle of Poly Prep for next years cleaning. Time will tell how this product will perform over the long haul but as of now, I'm extremely happy with the results. This is a big "do it yourself" project. If you paid to have this done it would likely cost at least $1,000.

I use a ceramic coating instead of wax. Protects longer, easier to apply and looks great.
The Last Coat or F11 are two of the brands out there.

They all seem to do well....even the spray on , wipe offs. Thing is...how long will they hold up in rain and sun? Neighbor has used Turtle Paste Wax for years and it always looks good.

My sides in particular are somewhat Faded chalky looking. Can I apply the Poly Glow right over the Faded chalky surface after the wash?

How often have you found you need to reapply.

Any other thoughts or hints appreciated.

Take your pick. All you need to do is apply a wax of any type. The older you get the less you will do it, take if from me. LOL. I do it once a year now. My graphics are pretty much toast, going to remove them next, the bad ones that is. My coach sits in the outdoors 24/7 hot summers, cold winters.

I'm sure not going to spend in upwards of 10,000 dollars to get it repainted!

Forgot to mention I had it done once, that cost 300 dollars, won't do that again.

I'm with Yosemitebob, Mothers CMX, once a year!

I used 2 bottles on my 30' C. For oxidation you need to use the cleaner first. I would use the severe oxidation cleaner comes in a can like commet cleaner. Just rub it on and rinse,you will be amazed at the results.
Then wipe on 4 or 5 coats of poly glow.
It should last for at least a good year maybe 2.

303 SiO2 Based Touchless Sealant for Paint, Glass, Wheels (30394CSR), 32oz

Going to try this next week. All the 303 products have been very good so far and reasonable priced. I usually purchase in gallons as I do all the toys and equipment plus tires, with various products

The protectant is the most universal but the Sealant sound promising without the hand buffing/wiping

I used F11 for the first time recently. It was great on my Jeep but I am not greatly impressed on the MH. Looks no better than other, cheaper products that are easier to apply. F11 is spray on wipe off but the wiping is not so easy as some other products I’ve used. Not an issue on a smaller vehicle but I’m getting too old for some of this!

As another data point, I was using Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 on my class C, since I've had good experience with it in the past as a long-lasting durable sealant on other vehicles. It worked well, and made cleaning bugs off the front cap a lot easier. However, it does require applying, waiting to dry, and buffing off, so it's not as easy to use as some other products.


Recently, I decided to try Mothers CMX ceramic spray coating as something that is easier to apply. I've seen some good reviews of it. It is pretty quick and easy to apply and leaves a good shine. I haven't used it long enough to determine how long it lasts.

I use thier washes, waxes, sealants, ceramic spray coatings, wash mitts, foam cannons, torque polishers. The products noted above can be used on painted and non-painted surfaces. most of thier products have UV UA ingredients. They even have products to bring those fade decals back to life and looking like new.

Haven't used their wax yet but I can tell you that their bug/tar remover is the best bug remover I've ever used. I tried one from Turtle Was and it was horrible. The CG's stuff is the real deal. Easily remove bugs from a 9-day trip this summer.

Glad it worked out. Now wash wax and jet seal the bug areas and it will eliminate the extra work for next trip.

How much F11 does it take for a 30" coach? How far does the 16oz bottle last?

I highly recommed applying with a Torq orbitable buffer. 3 small dabs on the pad and apply. Goes a long ways. 16 oz should be ample. Go on Chemical Guys website and look at the wax application videos.

Goes a very long way. Use their soap and spritz. Its pretty great stuff imo.

The more you use it over time it seems it improves the coating. Bugs easier to clean off, beads for weeks.

Wiping is not easy? Seems easier than anything else ive used. Love the fact the was Wax white doesnt peek at edges etc.
