Satellite

Anyone using satellite for tv reception rather than using cable? We have trouble getting cable channels when we scan, or if we get channels, the picture is very grainey. It's the same with all 3 tv's. We get good picture with antenna and yes I do turn off the antenna amplifier when scanning cable. I am thinking my coach cable may be the blame. I checked all the tv cable connections are tight. Does the satellite connect via the cable box on exterior of the coach? If so, I may have the same problem with satellite.

Thor MC does not set up the coaches for sat connections. All sat antennas use a low noise block downconverter (LNB) that is powered by 12 to 21 volts DC. The coax sprinters used by Thor do not allow DC to pass; so it is necessary to find the splitters in the entrance coax and replace them with ones that will pass DC. My coach only had one splitter located just behind the terrestrial antenna power supply. I use DirecTV so I had to add a second splitter for the LNB power supply and the wireless video bridge. That way all the TVs are wirelessly connected to the receiver. The splitters I used are "green label".

I forgot about the tv cable splitter. Does anyone know where the tv cable splitter should be located on a 2015/16 Thor ACE 30.1

Plant 750 puts the splitters behind the terrestrial antenna power module located on the same wall plate as the antenna power switch and indicator LED. Pull the plate and carefully avoid loosing the DC power wires for the antenna power supply pull the coax out of the wall or cabinet. There is a 9" to 14" coax pigtail that connects the plate's coax connector to the splitter.
