Vegas how to fill engine oil

Interesting solution. Personally I use an on/off cap that fits on a quart bottle.

I use 3 pieces of PVC and two 90 degree elbows to put oil when changing oil. The offset allows wife to hold pvc/funnel while I dump oil in.

For adding oil on road or in between oil changes I have a gear oil bottle nozzle to put oil straight down dipstick tube. It also doubles for adding/filling internal and trailer generator.

Pulling desk to add oil is a lot of extra work.

Hi Muggs you cant reach the oil fill from the front hood. I looked under and no oil fill cap so thor said it is under the dog house on the 25.6

I just looked, you have a 2020 and it may be a v-8. I have the v-10. Not sure oil fill location as pics small. I worked on a lot of trucks/industrial equipment over the years so nothing an engineer does surprises me. If you send me private message with email, I will send you pic. No issue going down dipstick for top off, half quart or so. Be a pain to fully refill there. I got pic of pvc fill extension on laptop.

My Method - the fill tube is buried deep inside the patient but can be reached with a little ingenuity.

That sounds very complicated? 1st you have to secure a written legal agreement with a very large telecommunication company. Then comes investment in very expensive hardware in order to secure a device to transmit communication services. Not to mention having to track that device (phone) down when needed. Then it gets harder as you must know a mechanic to call that is qualified; not to inflict damage to your RV, then the scheduling, delivery of the RV to service center for drop off and the excruciating wait. When complete; payment of funds in order to not have lien applied upon your RV. And finally return the RV back to it's home location and absorbing all of the costs of gas, and liability risks associated with the service and travel.

I prefer to add 7.5 lbs of air in the front tires, 20 mins, and a right hand that may be covered with oil after removing the oil filter everyday of the week

Naah: The lot where we store the RV also contains an auto restoration business. The mechanics there offer up their services to the RV owners.

Thus, for me, it literally is a phone call. They already have the keys: "Hey can you change the oil? Great". Next time I go out the oil's changed....

They also installed our recliners and scissor jacks and fixed a few other items on the RV.

I usually have them do the work when I deem the task above my skillset.

You have the ideal setup. I was jesting a tad. We keep our RV at home and it is 1 hrs drive through the heart of Dallas for me to get to my Dealer and it is by appointment; so we normally have to take two cars when we were doping the warranty work. I change the oils in engine 7 generator myself.

I also don't have ready access to outside service but, additionally, I like taking care of my "toys" myself. In addition to the motorhome, that includes a couple of old cars, a couple of daily drivers and, to the legal limit, the maintenance of an aircraft. Throw in a few bikes and e-toys and I get my fix.

My method is to drive 3 miles to the Freightliner service center (no appointments allowed) tell them what to do, wait in the driver’s lounge with free snacks and sandwiches, pay the bill when done about an hour later and then drive home. Repeat the process one year or 15000 miles later or pop into a Speedco if traveling.

My knees are worn out and I am too darned old to be spending my time crawling around under my coach when I could be relaxing while someone else does the work.

BTW, this rig is easy to get to everything but I still have someone else do the work.

My RV dealer (General RV) in Ashland VA does the same thing. They also have Lunchables and Yogurt.

I took mine for its first oil change to a quick lube place. Had to make sure the doors were 12’ tall. No sweat. 20-30 minutes later I left with new Mobile One. Cost was $75 after a military discount. Hands stayed clean.
