Saw dried oil on Onan 4000
Went to Cummings in montana..been trying to get in for weeks..most appointments 8 weeks out. But they did find a oil gasket leak.
They claim gasket in tomorrow..we hope.
Wanted all checked before the big winter trip

I assume it is a warranty repair, seems odd for new genset. But 181 hours means you are using it good, you have passed me as I sit with 168 hours and I have 2019 Onan 5500 that I try to run every excuse I get. Although, I ran into odd twist on my last trip, where when auto genset came on to start so it could charge the batteries, I had on other relevant electrical loads (no AC was needed, fridge was on propane) so I was worried about it running with no load?

I was told generator has 2 year warranty..will double check..have do AGS no load. There is an option to do it only if battery drops. So ok

What I was referring to is that generally when my generator is running (regardless if I manually start it or if the AGS started it) I almost always have at least 1 AC running. But while in Colorado, both ACs were OFF; so when genset started automatically, there was nothing of significance needing a load from the generator. The AGS had started because the batteries were down to 12.5vdc which is my user defined restart point.
The comment was only relevant because it is not good to let genset run with no or minimum load. As workaround, I manually turned on Inverter and all 3 TVs and put the fridge back on Electric.
