Schwintek inside a Schwintek

Think this could ever become a problem a Schwintek slide inside another Schwintek slide. This is on a 5th wheel that pulled in today.

Talk about a train wreck looking for a place to happen!?!?!?!

Even though the "buil-in" slide is smaller, that has to put a lot more torque on the main slide mechanism.

I would be steering clear of that design for sure........

I saw a trailer with that design years ago at an RV show. The only part that was on the smaller slide was the bed mattress so slide couldn’t have been more than about 6 feet long, and didn’t stick out too far. I wasn’t interested in trailers but the unique design caught my eye — had to take a look.

Mechanically, loads on slides are probably no worse than a larger full-wall slide. I would worry about wire routing and movement, but feel the structures could be designed properly. To me it looks worse than it is.

I would not buy a slide at all due to various personal preferences, but have to give designers credit for trying something new.

So is the window a lens and they can focus it by bringing the smaller slide in and out?? Nice telescope

Interesting the red/white tape there? Is that so they know that slide has been retracted?

So are there two switches or just one that operates both automatically--I think I'd want two for simplicity.

Wow...
Although it does look like something that I might think up...
Who makes the "fiver"?

I took these pictures in February 2015 at West Palm Beach RV Show. Apparently the idea didn’t take off or we would have seen a lot more in the last six years.

That’s what it is a 2015 Redwood. Talked to the owners today and they said they have had serious issues with that slide in slide system. They also said if the smaller slide fails to extend they will not be able to use the bed.
