Schwintek system switch fuse blows after slide in/out
We have a 2016 Challenger GT with 3 slides all using the Schwintek system. There is another identical Schwintek system that moves the double bed over the driver cabin up/down. All these systems are controlled using the 13398-C2 controller. All the slides have been working fine for years. When we extend or retract the slides, after the slide stops moving, we hold the switch down for an additional 2-3 seconds to make sure that all the motors are synced. Years of operation, no issues. The motors use a 30amp fuse and the switches uses a 10amp fuse (but the fuse box label says to use a 5amp – never noticed that before). Just in the past 3 weeks approx. 50% of the time we hold the switch down that additional 2-3 seconds, the 10amp switch fuse blows. The fuse has blown from all 4 systems at one time or another. If we do not hold the switch for that additional 2-3 seconds, then the fuse does not blow, but sometimes the motors then get out of sync by an inch or so and then we do not get the right seal around the slide or one side of the bunk does not right high enough to lock in the safety pin. The fuse never blows while we are holding the switch (i.e.: We can keep holding the switch and the motors are still trying to move), but then when we release the switch, the fuse blows. Not sure it makes any difference, but all the motors use 300:1 ratio gears.
