Schwintek in wall motor testing
I have a 2012 Daybreak 28PD with the Schwintek Inwall Slideout System. Yesterday I tried to open the slide and one of the motors quit dead after opening the slide about 3 inches. There is no sign of life. (The second motor seems to being working fine.) The controller is flashing an error code of eight red flashes to every one green flash. This error code is suppose to mean there is a short between the controller and motor. I called Lippert customer service. The rep said to check the continuity of the wiring harness and if that checks out OK then it's a faulty motor. All six wires in the harness passed my continuity test. I'm going to remove the motor. It's the high torque 500:1 model. My question is how do I accurately and reliably bench test this motor? I don't want to order a new one for $250 plus shipping unless I'm sure the motor is broken.
