Screw backing out of floor- 2021 Axis 24.1

There is a large flathead screw- 3/8” or so that keeps backing out of the floor in front of the bath. The first time it created a bump on the floor until it finally broke through the vinyl flooring and I was able to screw it back down tight with a Phillips head screw driver. But it just happened again.

Locktite is probably a good solution but I am concerned that if I back it out all of the way to coat it with LT, the nut will fall loose and I won’t be able to get it back in.

Anyone faced this problem before. I suppose 90% of the time the nuts are tack welded in place, but you never know with Thor.

David

I have seen this before in other coaches and I think the sub floor screws actually thread through the thin steel floor support beams (access from under the coach if you are lucky). If you can determine which screw is the problem from below and if you have access to the threads of that screw from under the coach, you should be able to screw it down all the way from above (now that you pierced the flooring) and then coat the screw threads with blue locktite just below where the screw extends beyond the thin metal floor support frame member. That should keep it from rotating back out again.

Also if the screw is just starting to tent the flooring you can grab the threads from below the coach (if you are lucky and have access to it) and back it down again from below before any damage is done to the flooring. Then do the locktite procedure.

I have taken screws to ACE hardware to get a little bigger one and after fix you can use this on the floor

I used a 3/8” drive with Phillips bit and was able to screw it down another turn or so. It never did get solid, just progressively tighter. So I will keep an eye on it and maybe it will now stay in place.

I tried looking below and couldn’t see it.

Thanks guys for your advice.
