Seem molding suggestions

Alright so this may affect everyone but I know I am not the only west coaster that has had this happen. As I am writing this outside in the shade where it is 97 degrees which is the coldest day by about 20 degrees in the last week and half.

This last weekend coming home across Washington state through the desert yes it’s a desert it only rains along the coast it was 116- 120 most of the way we lost the molding off the front cap both sides.

This is the second time we have lost this. The last time was just north of St George Utah once again 100 plus heat. Since that really isn’t something you can avoid unless you are running along the coast during the summer out here any suggestions on what to do besides just replacing with something that will melt again?

I have thought of just sealing up each screw but was looking for better suggestions. I don’t want to replace with molding again that will only last another year at best.

Thank for the help

I don’t know your coach, but if your side moldings are similar to the roof edge molding you could try to fasten the start end (reversed and trimmed) of the new molding under the top track screw and add a screw externally at the bottom end of the new molding. Caulk with Dicor non sagging lap sealant or similar as required at both ends to seal. A u-tube video is attached to show what someone did for his roof edge molding install. At least it "might" help retain the new moldings for you a little longer.

On the front cap on ours it was already screwed in. It just gets hot enough that it will come out in the wind. I had to glue it the last time to stay in once it stretched out too far.
