Shakedown Trip: Should this be in my slide?

We are Boondocking off 525c, just east of Sedona. We took this trip to put the RV “under load” (2020 Thor Hurricane 29m) so we could get all our warranty work done this winter. So far we’ve found plenty, but nothing major. I’m going to make a thread on all the minor issues when we get home.

However, one thing is really bugging me. On the full wall slide, when we slide it out, it remains about an inch from being fully extended. Is that normal? (Pics attached)

Also, along the top of the slide is a board that is approximately half an inch square, and runs the length of the top of the slide. From the interior wall lip of the slide, there is the big rubber gasket, then this board, then the exterior wall. Why would the gasket be on the “interior” side of this board and not pressing directly against the wall? Could this board be something left over from construction?

I’ve attached pics and I hope my description above makes sense. Be glad to provide more details or pics from other places if it would help.

Edit: poor data. Pics won’t upload. Will keep trying.

Pic 2 shows it best. Slide wall. Big rubber gasket. Odd seemingly useless board. Then the exterior wall.

While I've got no answer for your slide question : it is good to see that the issues have been minor...

It looks like a left over spacer? If it is loose, I would definitely remove it. It would seem to be the reason your slide does not fit tight.

Does the slide extend an equal distance on the top and bottom or is the bottom extended further than the top?

The seal should be against the wall to seal out the weather. Looks like there would be a considerable air gap. If there is a gap I wouldn't turn on too many lights at night or you might be invaded by bugs. In the rain or snow you could also have water intrusion leading to mold and that I would consider a major issue (easy fix but major issue).

We have a 2019 29m.
Where is the 1st pic taken from?
That board belongs there. There is a gasket behind and the slide is actually fully extended, it just appears it isn’t because the mouldings/trim are hitting the side wall.
Just an fyi- under kitchen sink there is a back panel (4 screws) remove it sometime and check and sink water supply line fitting are tight. Ive had to tighten a couple times after noticing some dripping.
Also still working on the some rattles hear and there.

The second pic is taken standing between the kitchen and bedroom, looking forward toward the cab area. Thatís the mystery board against the wall. It does have a break in the middle of about 2 feet, so itís actually two boards.

The board does not belong. The rubber gasket should touch the exterior wall all the way around with absolutely no gaps. No daylight showing I side.

There's a Thor dealer just over the hill on the outskirts of Prescott.
A nice scenic drive over to them will maybe get you a look at a slide like yours in their inventory.
It doesn't have to be the exact model as yours.

Ours is similar

We have a full length slide and do have the spacer board similar to yours. Ours has the upper wall trim running above the cabinets, behind which is a black backing board, then the spacer board similar to your pic. When fully extended, the spacer board is the defining location. Also, I agree with one of the previous posters, check the fresh water connection a few times, ours also leaked and kinked. No big deal to fix just something to keep a look out for. We also had a slight fresh water tank leak (drain fitting was cross threaded) that was unnoticed and eventually destroyed the wood in the rear right compartment. IE if you notice water back there donít assume itís from the door.

Pretty sure the board didnít get there by itself.

But may have been a construction aid left behind? Doubtful, as they all have some degree of QA, including functional tests.
