Shore power charging question

Does the chassis/cab batter charge when on shore power? Or does it only charge off of the alternator and generator? 2019 Thor Freedom Elite 30fe

The house battery charges thru the convert or converter/inverter when on shore power. The lighting is 12 volts and the converter keeps the battery's charged to run lights, 12 volt control circuits in the house.

Thanks cavie for the reply, my question is more about keeping the engine/chassis battery charged. I bought my RV in February and it been in storage plugged into 120v, house battery is fully charged but engine/chassis drained down and I need to use the emergency switch to start the engine.I thought plugged into shore power would charge both batteries.

it depends on the year and model - some do, some don't.

make sure that you don't put your coach into 'Store' mode, when you are on 120v shore power, as this disconnects the 12v systems and could render your ability to also charge the Chassis batteries at a loss, since it takes 12v power to operate the solenoid/latching relay...

Some coaches do charge the Chassis battery some do not. Motor Homes are a problem into themselves The bigger question is Why is the Chassis battery draining down? That's what you need to be looking for. Battery disconnect turned off? Wet cell battery? have you checked water level?

I leave the switch in the "Use" mode. I will have to check the water level in that battery. Will need to do a in depth check for any open circuit that could be draining the engine/chassis battery.
