Should I seal this AC opening?

Took cover off and on right side there is a opening..
I think connected to return and blower

See picture with green wire for open area

Not sure I get what opening you are talking about. The very large return hole or is there something else in the corner?

Each corner has a 2 by 3 inch whole ending with the form in the middle..looks like foam separating return and air flow should be longer..I can put tape on both sides.
Do not think it will impact anything

My guess both airs should not mix even a little?

Three sides of the devider should have foam on it. Some people just tape it into place so like you said it won't hurt anything and no, you don't want the two sides to mix at all.

Don't seal any of the 3 large openings - they are air passageways.

If you remove the white plate you can clearly see the divider separating the supply and return sides of the A/C.

Yes I would remove the other white plate, 4 more screws, and you can see the divider more clearly. Make sure it's positioned properly and add more tape as necessary to make sure the intake and outlet cooled air don't mix. While you are at it, streamline the airflow into the ducting holes on both sides with more of the foil tape. Make it more aerodynamic. A few weeks ago there were some discussions about this and some links to YouTube videos and pictures that describe what I'm talking about.

On every RV I have had, the factory does a poor job of closing off that divider. Silver tape for HVAC works best. Look at it as an air leak on the supply side (pressure) to return as just another parasitic drain that needs to be corrected. Energy efficiency, comfort, etc.

Several threads on this forum about after market products that provide a replacement for that cheap divider.

Thanks experts..4 roof screws were loose. Added silver AC tape to small openings. All sealed up.

This is one of my "budget" spring projects... I saw that video a while back, and just couldn't resist!

I seriously need to join "MMA"... (Motorhome Modifications Anonymous) and get professional help!
