You can caulk if you so choose. We have had several RV's and none have been caulked from the factory. I caulked the last coach this one no. I had to reapply caulk every couple seasons. The walls lap the pan and I suppose the mfgr logic is that the walls and pan move when the coach is rolling down the road. actually I suspect it's just a cost savings on their part however.

I do not and not one of the 6 TTS and MHs I’ve owned was caulked. Furthermore dealers, service people and manufacturers all advise not to. Good enough for me.

Thor MC has never sealed the shower surround to the pan. The gap is there to provide circulation for condensation on the outside of the shower surround, so excessive moisture runs down into the shower pan. There should be a 1 to 1.5" overlap of the surround and the pan. Only if you drop the hand held sprayer with the flow on would there be a chance of water getting outside the shower surround while showering.

No. They are supposed to breath so not to mold up.

I had read that somewhere as well.
My last coach an 06 Gulfstream had very little lap over the pan and water would find its way down into one of the outside storage compartments. Drove me nuts trying to find it. After I caulked the bottom of shower wall it quit

During the PDI I was told by the tech not to caulk the shower pan. On our first trip we noticed that water was getting out of the pan because the MH was not perfectly level, so I found a product made by a company called Grabbars (Water Dam) , installed it and no water problems since. Its a bit pricey at $50 but worth it IMHO.

How does Grabbars (Water Dam) stop an uneven pan?

Its about 2 inches high so the water stays in the shower pan. The water dam is flexible as they are designed for handicapped showers stalls.

You have to be pretty off level to have it go over the pan lip.
