Fresh water leak

I have a 2016 Freedom Elite 23H that leaks water when it’s tank is full. Can’t see the location of the leak. My question is how hard is it to remove the tank to inspect it and are any things to be aware of. And is there a good way to repair a small leak or do I have to replace it. It doesn’t leak if it’s less than 2/3 full. I’m pretty good at repairing things just never worked on motorhome water systems.

Which tank?

First suspect would be the 3/4 sensor.
Second suspect, maybe something has rubbed a hole in the tank.

You should be able to find the tank, black tank is usually visable where the sewer hose hooks up, same for the gray tank.
The fresh water tank should be close to the fresh water fill point.

Keep us updated.

When you find the leak (hopefully simple) I am thinking JB Weld Plastic weld epoxy might do the trick.

It may be the fill line. When we first got ours I kid of overfill it and instead of flowing back out it leaked at the top of the tank where the line entered the tank.

I had that problem when we first got ours but I tightened all the fittings and the leak stopped. Now it’s leaking from an area that isn’t visible from above the tank. I just need to hear from anyone that has removed a fresh water tank before.

Thanks for the tip. Have used JB Weld metal epoxy before with good results so will try the plastic repair type if it’s not too big of a hole. We are on the road for another week so for now we are just dealing with it.

Found leak

I removed tank from Motorhome. Found the leak. Not happy about what I found. Had a poorly done repair on the side that isn’t visible unless you remove it. This motorhome was bought new by us in 2017. So the factory put a poorly repaired tank in our brand new unit! 😐. Good news is a little JB Weld plastic bonder and a patch solved the leak. The Freedom Elite brand is lower priced than other Thor brands so I guess you get what you pay for.
