Slide Motor

When installing new slide motor the shaft slides into the D on the block but the set posts don't match up. Is there some way to adjust those so they line up allowing the motor to completely set on the block?

Standard Schwintek slide motor - when I replaced one of mine I had to wiggle it and hold my tongue just right for it to drop into place. It's not as easy as the Youtube videos show since they just throw the same motor right back in. Try rotating the motor shaft slightly.

How do I rotate the motor shaft?

Just tap the in/out switch until it drops into the holes. I usually place the 4 posts above the holes and have an assistant jog the in/out switch until the "D" shaft drops into the hole. Not very hard to do. Just had to replace the the total system due to broken teeth in the shaft and tracks.

Your help! While we had the slide out we tightened a lot of loose screws which we feel may have
Been the reason the motor popped
Out to begin this nightmare!

You may not have the retaining screw in from the outside high up near the top of the motor installed. It keeps the motor from moving vertical and dis-engaging. The 4 post keeps the motor from rotating and the other screw keeps it from going vertical. This screw does not thread into the motor but simply goes into one of the holes near the top of the motor.

Just for info, NEVER REPLACE THIS SCREW WITH A LONGER ONE!!!!!! I thought this screw was to hold the side gasket in and it didn't seem like it was doing its job so I installed a longer screw, which went into the motor, which, of course, cut one of the connecting wires disabling the motor. Many $$$$$ to replace the motor. Luckily where my son works there's this genius electrical guy who took it apart and reinstalled the wire. Works like new.

We used the same screw! We also reconsidered the amount of weight we had in this full side slide. Clothes weigh a lot as well as cookware. We have been out once since the repair and all went well! Thanks for your help!

I have such love for the full side slide on our Palazzo that I've gone ahead and purchased spare motors and controllers to just carry with us everywhere we go.
The hardest part is recruiting enough people to help shove the slide in our out to gain access to the motors as needed.

We play a game every time we arrive somewhere and want to extend that slide called Slide Roulette where we all guess how many attempts it's going to take this time to get the slide out. And this after having it in two different shops having the slides serviced.

Maybe after SpaceX gets this whole Mars thing figured out they'll send someone to Schwintek and explain how a hydraulic system works and do away with this dodgy setup they use now.
