Slide out out of sync.

Ok, the latest adventure. When we had finished our dry camping trip and we’re pulling the slideout in, it jam and would only move a few inches either way. We tried the reset, push the button six times then hold on the seventh until the lights flash. Then we used the inside controls to store the slide. Well some how in all that we got the motors out of sync where one was moving in and the other one is trying to move out?? We finally got it store by alternating unplugging on motor at a time and “walking” the slide in to the full stored position. Does anyone know how to reset the whole system from full stored? Yes we have a call into Thor service!

To resync the motors I will extend about 12 inches, then retract. Do this 3 times in a row. After that try to fully extend ........hold button constant until the slide stops and continue holding for 5 seconds. Good luck. Jerry

The problem is one the motors is retracting while the other motor is extending the slideout!

Try calling the manufacturer's tech support. Sounds like this is not the typical out of sync problem.

The motors polarity is opposite! Motor 1 runs outward, motor 2 runs inward. The error code identified an issue with wire harness or a bad motor. Thor was little too no help. They continue to tell me to run the slideout all the way out and then in. I tried to explain that it wouldn’t do that. It just put it self in a bind. It’s going in for service next week😖

Sounds like something other than the usual out of sync issue. Perhaps a wiring problem, or motor shorted, or possibly bad switch. If I had to guess, I would think possibly wiring got caught on something when the slide was deployed or retracted. All speculation until a tech can so some serious trouble shooting. Let us know what it turns out to be.

It sounds like the controller is confused from all of the plugging/ unplugging. I have in my notes that a quick press of the slide extend button two times will reset the controller. Just double tap the extend switch and see if it works.

At this point I willing to stand on one leg and hold tin foil in my hand to fix this issue. But I think it will take a trip to the service department.

I think it has to be a tin foil hat!!!!!

Probably a trip to the service department is your best bet, unfortunately.

So did you get it fixed? What action was needed? Thanks.

Nice hat..... well the RV is in the shop now I’m just waiting on them. My guess would be the controller. They did a fast check when I dropped it off and said the motors were getting power ok and there didn’t appear to be a cable issue.

Update

Ok first I’ll admit that this issue was caused by me when I went to reset the slide out at the control box I moved the 2 switches on the very small potentiometer next to the reset button! You can see the switches in the closeup, their in the grey box. Do I feel like a idiot

Yes I did, it took 5 minutes, they reset the switch, ran it out and a few times. Check for any potential issue. All fix. Word of caution to all, if you need to reset the control box for the slideout. Be very careful not touch the potentiometer, the 2 small switches can be moved if you do.
