When ours had a damaged wire it would open a couple inches then stop. I found that if I retracted an inch then pushed the out button it would open another 2 or 3 inches.
Finished that trip with out...in. out...in. or in...out.in...out. might work for you.

Can you trace the wiring harnesses from the controller : out toward those motors?
We've found 2 of the 6 wires weren't run properly I fixed the first one 2 yrs ago and the other last year. Soldering iron and a little heat shrink fixed both .
The first was supper easy, second microwave, etc had to come out.

Search YouTube and this forum for "Swintech". Should take a couple hour IF access is easy couple of days for a hard one.

Have you thought about contacting a "mobile RV repairman" ?

Keep us updated.

With the slide in and a short stool you might find the damaged wire.

I will be honest This is just not my job - I hurt myself trying to get a nail into a wall. So, I better keep my fingers off and have somebody do it who knows what he is doing

There is an emergency procedure available that can often get your slide to move.
Theee's a button on the controller that you can posh with the tip of a pen. As I ecall: you posh it 6 times, and then hold it in on thex7th push. The lights should change what they're doing, and when you see that: get inside quickly, and use the control panel to move the slide.

But I'm not 100% confident on my explanation; so Google it, and find a YouTube video about it.

When I had my Outlaw: the slide was always a bit "wonky" in how it worked. I used this procedure many times with success.
It turned out that I needed a new wiring harness from the controller; out to the motor...

Same code I got on the Challenger's shakedown cruise when the slide stuck about 6 inches out. Turned out the connector came loose from the slide motor. Mobile tech plugged it in and all worked fine.

Mine, on the Challenger, was located on the ceiling of the overhead cabinets in the driver's compartment on the drivers side far left.

update:

I did override the controller - the back of slide is moving, the front is not

I would guess it is either a motor failure or cable problem. My idea was switching the cables on the controller ( motor 1 to motor 2 and 2 to 1 to see if the front starts moving

Is that a good idea or can I damage anything ??

Thank you guys !!

That could be a worthwhile experiment to try.
If the front moves and the back doesn't: it's the controller.
(The it would be a good time to try a different controller...)
If there's no change in what happens: the wires to the front motor (or the motor itself); are likely the culprit.

update #2:

switched the cables on the controller and guess what

Both sides/motors are running. Only minor thing is that I have to press "Retract" to extend the slide and "Extend" to bring the slide in. Nothing what would bother me

Again - THANK YOU very very much - I appreciate the help givin' to a newbie

It appears that you switched the wires going back to the control panel...
But I sure can't argue with your results!

When you extend or retract the slide you'll want to do two things:

1. Operate it continuously: Don't stop in the middle. Go from closed to open or open to closed all the way in one motion.

2. When at the end hold the switch down for about 5 extra seconds. This resets the controller's timing so that the motors remain in sync.

Means one.of the wires in the harness from controller to motor is cut in half, pinched or grounded it. Had same problem when water tank was replaced. Shop ordered new harness to fix.

Sync slides

Something I never knew until I started damaging a cabinet & slide out trim, was the slide needs to be synced when you extend or retract all the way.

My previous rig req'd you let off the button when the slide reached all the way out or all the way in.

With my Thor 32.1, if I didn't sync, the slide would rub a cabinet with the slide trim. CW sawed the trim off twice. Then I found an article about sync.

Hold down the slide button until you hear the slide motors, whir?, then release, that syncs both motors. Do this both when extending & retracting.

Since then both slides extend/retract without rubbing anything.
