LED Awning Light Strip Issues

2017 Challenger. The light strip is on the awning roller. We replaced it about a year ago with a Carefree replacement light strip from Amazon. It works great, except it's now sticking to the awning when we unroll it, to the point that it hangs on for a second then releases, causing the awning to bounce those last few inches. It's leaving tiny holes in the awning vinyl where it was stuck.

Anyone else have this problem? I am not sure if we need to replace the strip again, or if there is something we can put on the strip to keep it from sticking?

I don't have that problem but I clean and spray the patio awning with 303 Protectant every spring. I also use 3M mildew block. So far so good. The vinyl is susceptible to mildew is left rolled-up wet and the mildew is sticky stuff.

Your awning really gets hot during the summer when rolled up. I thinking the glue on the strip you installed is melting in spots. I just looked at mine and it fits into a track that is supplied by the vendor and doesn't use glue. If yours is the same way then as mentioned I would just clean it up really good every couple of seasons and put a conditioner on it.
