Slide won’t retract

Went camping during last hurricane here in SC. Preparing to leave the campground slide on our 2015 ACE 27.1 would not close. Luckily office staff knew how to reset it with Thor after calling them, something about pushing a reset button 7 times and holding it while the other person pushes button on the inside switch, but upon returning home it’s stuck out again. I am not mechanically inclined but think I can get it to close, I guess I’m asking what’s the fix to stop this...

It's 'towed', not toad.

This is a
'stop by an rv shop and pay for a tutorial walk through of all the functions and crashes possible'
Situation.

You didn't absorb enough information from the local guy fixing it. You need to be in a 'take notes' situation.

You'll get 100 theories here from 50 people, many of whom don't own your style MotorHome.

Go ask someone who can be hands on, and take notes.
Or
If you're comfortable with it, download the owner manual.

The "How" is pretty easy...

But the "Why" is going to require a trained technician.
(My Outlaw ended up needing a new wiring harness to the slide motors...)

Good luck!

Maybe the switch? Here's a trick to see: at the controller swap the two motor connection plugs then try to extend the slide when out. swapping the leads swaps the direction of the switch so "Extend" should retract the slide. If it works, you have a bad switch (or wiring to the switch).

Had a friend drop by, under the first bin by the battery is a panal that tells you how to reset the slide. The wire marked retract was loose. After pushing it back on tight the slide works as it should... Great to have friends here and here at home, thanks you all...

Was your wall controller also dead before you did this?
