Slides out for extended period?

ACE 30.2.

Any downside to leaving slides out for extended periods when not in use? We are under a steel awning.

I’d just make sure you keep the rubber seals moisturized. Shouldn’t hurt anything that I’m aware of.

I've had ours out for a month at a time without any issues.

I’ve already replaced the “outside-side seals” on my one small slide
They crack & tear at the mid-point between the RV wall and the slide
I used solid neoprene found on Amazon
I posted in another thread

Truthfully: my slides are out, and the top vents are cracked: as long as the weather co-operates. I pull things in, and shut things down; at the first sign of rainy weather.

I spray and wipe all the seals with 303 when leaving them out in the weather

In the shop they are always out

I use the at so cosmetic wash wax all and there mop head and handle, fast and easy,it's the only way I can reach the top seal on my full wall slide 25ft. not much room under topper.

If insulating the slides you may as well do the entire coach, there's no more, or less, insulation in the exterior walls than the slides. The slide roofs may be not a insulated as the rest of the roof, but if you have toppers they help greatly with cooling/heating loss & look better than adding insulation on the top or sides.
