Slow Drip under the coach from two tubes...

My 2014 A.C.E. 29.2 has two tubes under the coach near the entry. Both have a slow drip, but getting worse. Can I cap those off? Is the ring valve above them the problem? Thank you!

Sounds like the low point drains are leaking. Maybe you could stick a rubber plug in them.

If they are the low point drains it would be surprising for both to have leaking valves at the same time. I’d try to get to a real fix. Try opening and closing the valves a few times to clear any debris that might be in them. If that fails I’d replace the valves.

Thank you! If they still drip after opening and closing them a few times, would it be easier to just cap them off with a cap-end-type valve?

Yes, I suppose it would be easier. But then the valves would be hanging out in the breeze, so to speak and might be easily damaged. If you can get access to the PEX line above the existing valve you can cut and remove the line and valve. Then you can assemble a replacement and just slip it back in. If you don’t have PEX tools or experience with them use “Sharkbite” fittings that just press together. They cost more but are foolproof and reliable. Easy to find at big box home centers.

could they possibly be condensate drains from the A/Cs?

I have had condensate drains but no valves

Maybe just low point drains that froze and damaged the valves

A pic would help tremendously. If you’re getting ready for cold weather open them all the way till the dripping stops. Problem solved!!

Might be eiser but why not find out what they are and fix the problem instead of a band aid? If they are A/C condensate drains you can not cap them off.

Ring valve? Do you mean a little valve with a key ring you can pull to open? Those are overpressure valves. What water pressure are you having?

We agree, just open and close a few time. When you open them, let them run to flush out any debris. When you close them, push down firmly on the stem where where the ring is attached. We noticed a little, white, build-up (mineral)on on ours. We have a 2016 Thor ACE 29.4.
