GREETINGS from Kansas ! Some of you will recognize our login...other newer members will not....
UPDATE:
WE sold our motorhome, 2016 Axis 24.1, in May 2021...due to health reasons...we loved our Axis and hated sending along to someone who wanted it..when we were ready to quit long range RV travel. We bought a Scamp 13' trailer to tow behind our Jeep, which became the TV, rather than the toad. We stay close to home...staying out a couple days here and there...and are ready for the cold weather and snow of KS winters to subside we we can get out of the home and into our camper. I do the driving now, and find the Jeep and Scamp take care of business very well.
TO THOSE OF YOU who are new to camping...WE have camped for over 30 years...and LOVE every minute and have fantastic memories.
We had our favorite campsites scattered around the country which we returned to often....YOU will find yours too !
IF you should find yourselves on the pahhandle of Florida, there is an older, no frills campground on east Carabelle beach...HO HUM RV PARK...if you make your reservation early enough, you can park on the waters edge...amazing sunrises and sunsets on the Gulf Coast waters...We always made a 3-4 day stop there on our way to Lakeland to be with family.
Cedar Key on the Gulf is also a favorite in Florida.
Colorado...many fantastic campgrounds...we preferred Southen CO ...Salida, area our favorite but have camped the whole southern area.
FIND YOUR SPOTS AND ENJOY YOUR JOURNEY...and know that all of these motorhomes and trailers have their issues when new....often, you can find a used unit which has gone through the growing pains....GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY !

Hello Kay - glad to see you and Ron are still enjoying camping when you can.
My father started us camping in the 60s and of course we went through the standard progression of tents==> Trailers. After the kids left home my parents continued the progression through Class Bs==> Class As ==> DPs. They sold their last MH in the 90s but after my Mom passed away in 2005 my Dad bought a brand new Casita and S-10 Blazer and continued camping with trips around the country until he got too sick to do it in 2012. He recovered and camped vicariously threw us in our TTs and MH until he passed away at the age of 94.
Keep camping as long as you are able - it keeps you young.

Hi ALL OUR FRIENDS ! Even though we sold our 2016 AXIS to close friends last May....we HAD TO SELL OUR BIG BOX...due to health issues.
IT SADDENS ME TO SEE soooo many folks bailing out of motorhomes...they are new to the RV experience and don't understand the challenges which lie ahead. Only those of us, who have camped and have had the RV experience for many years appreciate and are willing to accept the challenge of 'fixing and repairing' what occurs during our adventures.
Ron and I now, have af 13' Scamp, 20 yrs old...we had to clean it up and do a few minor improvements to make it road worthy....for our now, short trips. WE STILL LOVE CAMPING...we tug our Scamp with our 20 year old Jeep Wrangler, which we originally tugged behind the Axis.
Anyone who needs a brake controller....we have one ! By the way !
WE THE MISS THE THOR FORUM COMMUNITY ! Take care and have a fun camping season !

Thanks for checking in.
Last year ibsqw my first fifth wheel ir goode neck scamp.
Cutest thing ever.
Weve considered an old scamp to turn into the worlds cutest utility trailet and tow it behind the axis.
We're just waiting for one to fall in our lap.
I'm a bit jealous of your new scampcapades.

Harmsy, I want to say thank for your honesty about your travels and rv experience. Most of us has felt like you at one time or another. We have sold, bought and did it over again. Camping isn’t easy and it’s not for everyone but we still enjoy our time stepping out of the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Wishing you the best with your future adventures.

I hope the internet pundits are correct when they say the used RV market is soon to be overrun with units being sold by covid buyers. That means I might be able to get a good deal on a low mileage camper van. I'd like to have one for the little trips. That could also mean some good pricing in the new RV market with so many low mileage, barely used rigs for sale.

Sounds like a solid plan if you were looking to buy a Class A or C, but may not apply as much if interested in a B van.
Latest SSI monthly sales data I’ve seen shows A and C are down 27% year over year, while Bs are up 40%. If demand (or lack thereof) for new units precedes that of used, cost of Class B vans may not drop as quickly for now. If anything, I see B prices going up — partly due to inflation but also manufacturers loading them up to maximize profits.

Hi !
Yes we go to Clinton...we prefer the Bloomington side, campground but stay on the State side as well.
We camp at Weston Bend State Park and,
our close-to-home Riverside Campground here in Leavenworth !
The Wrangler TJ serves us well in towing the Scamp and thanks to Rons teaching me all of the 'how to' during our many years together, I can drive, connect and disconnect etc...
NOW THAT THE WEATHER IS, FINALLY, WARM...We are good to go !
If you find yourself headed to Clinton...let us know !

Will do however we typically go on to Table Rock when heading East or Lake of the Ozarks.
We have the home and shop at Milford Lake so that is the KS stopping point.
So if you head towards Milford at some point let me know. We are there off and on depending on the direction of travel. Flagstop Resort is across the street and have full hookups or as needed plus a Cafe on site.
Happy Travels and Camping
