temperature swings a/c heat

2015 windsport 34E the temperature in the coach swings wildly with the furnace or a/c.
I'm wondering if the thermostat should be mounted lower on the wall to get it down to were we are living. It's probably over 5 feet off the floor. IMO too high to trigger the heat when we are seated and too high to adjust for the a/c. We are either freezing or sweating.
Note. We just returned from a trip we used an electric heater in the bedroom and left it a degree lower than the thermostat. The furnace ran very little and th temps were more even.
I have replaced the thermostat with a Digital no change.
Ideas welcome
TIA

IMHO: Five feet off the floor sounds to be about shoulder height...
I'm guessing that's a "reasonable" height. (Assuming that you are of a "normal" height.)
Could you have some sort of blockage in the ventilation system?
Good luck!

The problem is more likely the location of the thermostat. In my last MH the thermostat was located directly below an A/C vent, so the air would shut down before the rest of the rig was at the set temperature. I ended up having to seal that vent to solve the problem. Normal vertical placement is roughly around eye level, which of course varies with the height of the user.

The link below is actually geared toward home 'stat placement, but the same principles apply.

Bob, its cooling and heating fine. The problem is that the time between shut down and restart. That temp swing you are either sweating g or freezing.
I need to be able to adjust the start stop temp on the start. I'd rather have either heat or a/c run more often to get even temps in the MH
Thanks

Location would make sense for the a/c , but no heat vents near the thermostat
Thanks
