Spots on trim

I have these spots forming on some of the vertical vinyl trim. On close inspection.. these are pits forming. Nothing cleans them. Only have used car wash and car wax on exterior.

Puzzeling...

No... the right front has it and left rear.. definitely not rocks... the finish on MH is pristine.. it’s like a chemical breakdown of the vinyl???

I have the same issue on my 2016 only worse. I’m wondering if they can be painted.

Mine is a ‘16 Hurricane . I took some 3m auto body polish to mine.. that’s when I realized it was discolored craters .
My right front , all the way up.., the short piece above driver side window .
And left back , lower section only.
It looks like a chemical breakdown of the vinyl...
so now , mine and yours .. that’s 2... wonder how many more out there ??

Not anywhere close ... this is for snapping into a metal channel like on travel trailers ..,

I think I have the same problem, but worse. Some of my trim is pretty much covered with brown, maybe rusty, spots. I think the trim is on the leading edge of the slide-out, or maybe some trim in between the driver cab door and the slide out. I have been ignoring it... it is a 3 year old Thor Siesta 24 ft Class C.

My Hurricane has four of these trim strips. They are between the front and rear fiberglass caps and the body panels. All four have some level of spots. The side that has been exposed to the most sun has far more spots.

It is hard to tell, without removal, what the material is or how they are attached. They appear to be painted metal that has been coated with some clear polymer like vinyl, but that is a guess. The spots appear to be corrosion, under the coating, but again, it's hard to be certain.

If anyone has removed these for replacement or repair and can add some specifics, it will be much appreciated.

oh, apologies, something new. The stuff i linked to is what was used on my MH, and thousands of others.

these pics are to close in for me to see what it is..but no matter cause I'm not familiar with it.
