Squeaking - Microwave?

Miramar 34.1

While driving we have an annoying squeak which we think we've isolated to the microwave.

Not sure if its the mounting or door.

Does anyone else have any thoughts?

Thanks

The turntable in our MW makes noise if we forget to put some weight on it or remove it while traveling. It rattles, squeaks etc. and can be annoying.

Typically we use the microwave to store bread. This serves two purposes: Keeping the noise from it down and making use of extra storage space.

Thanks

Thanks.

At first I thought the same thing. I removed the dish and the ring, but it was still there.

I try that again and see if its just not me realizing that I left it in there again.

My previous coach had a squeaking microwave. I fixed it by getting weatherstripping and placing a strip on the mounting bracket as well as across the top where it met to the cabinet. Simple fix, however, these microwaves can be heavy. I asked my neighbor to help over a few beers!

The weather-stripping mod - is it difficult, other than 2 sets of hands. How do I access the mount?

The microwave is mounted at the top of the unit. Mine was in a slide, so they were easily accessible. In my current coach, they are located inside the cabinet directly above the microwave, you should see two screws. Those hold it up. There is a bracket mounted to the wall that just holds the rear of the unit in place. I took the unit off the wall bracket completely, then I placed weather stripping across the bottom of that mounting bracket and across the top of the microwave where it meets with the cabinet. I remounted the unit. I also put a strip on the inside of the door so when it closes, it's a snug fit. I also folded a paper towel and placed it under the carousel plate so it did not rattle. Fixed my issue within an hour and 4 beers....

I literally got back from the dealership today to fix a squeaky/rattling microwave. What I thought was going to be hours was a 5 minute job. The tech took the face plate off the microwave and saw two standoffs that were not extended. When extended, they press in to the floor of the microwave opening to secure it in place. My microwave was essentially suspended which was causing enough squeaking/rattling during transit that it warranted ear plugs.

For rattling, we wrap a dish towel around the glass platter in the microwave. While at it... slip another dish towel under the edges of the glass stove cover. We're gradually eliminating rattles, next I'll work on the squeaks.
