Still Learning

We were out camping last weekend and I was cooking up some burgers for lunch when the wind started to pick up. I was watching the awning and said to myself that I should retract it a few feet, then the awning starts to retract it self to the closed position. I have a automatic awning that I never knew I had. Some day I will read all the books that came with the coach.

It's good to know that they might have a finely-tuned self-preservation instinct...

My personal level of discomfort with the wind; always shows up before the awning starts getting nervous!

It would have been fun to see your face. I’m sure there was a point where you thought you had waited too long and it was leaving on its own. :-)

Anyone know how hard or expensive (almost the same thing....) it is to add an automatic retract sensor/switch to a Carefree awning? Looking into it is on my todo list.

I have one on our awing it's great. Do you know you can set the wind speed for it to retract. I believe mine is set for 10 MPH. In case you haven't had this happen before wait till it rolls up in the middle of the night. Talk about Scarry. First time this happened I thought we were under attack [emoji23].
