Storage bin will not open!

I don't know how this happened, but I went to disconnect my shore power cord from the bin on the drivers side of my 2018 Thor Outlaw, 37BG, and it will not open! I have locked & unlocked it, pulled on the handle, and nothing. It seems like the handle is not engaging with the latch. I don't know what to do except unplug the cord from the garage & cut it off close to the entry port & take it to a dealer. I have a warranty plan, but its a $200 deductible.

I think I would try a mobile tech before cutting the power cord to drive to a dealer. I don't know what style your latches are. Some can be jimmied by using a pry bar or stiff wire to push the catch back at the door edge. I posted some time ago that one of mine came apart inside the handle box and I took all of the rest apart and applied lock-tite. Sorry I can't help you any better.

This happened on my 2016 Thor Siesta 24SR two weeks ago.

I used 1/4" drive socket with 6" extension, and an open end wrench to get it open. It was on the drivers side on mine. The power panel door is forward of rear tire on drivers side. Opened rear door (wet bay behind rear tire), removed two bolts holding panel in place over rear tire. Slide socket with extension from bottom of panels onto bolts holding panel in place between that panel and power door, removed those two bolts. The 1/4" extension barely fits, and it will rub some paint off the edge of one or both panels. After this panel is removed, you will be able to use open end wrench to loosen or remove the bracket your latch is engaged with.

Afterwards, I removed the latch assembly. The screw inside had loosened, which allowed the parts to separate from each other. I used red lock tight on the screw so hopefully this will not happen again.

Last week the latch on passengers side storage compartment stuck in the retracted position. It was because the screws holding assembly to door were to tight.

I hope these pictures will help you. BTW, the actual bolt head on mine is 3/8", but I used all 1/4" drive so the extension would fit between panels.

I went from bottom removed nut from bottom hinge bolt pulled bottom of door out a little removed top hinge nut and bolt door will slide out of latch no damage to door. Afterwards I put lock tight on that loose screw on ALL of the latches.

Is it possible to reach your hand in from the bottom access hole?

Make sure it is in the unlock position. And see if you can push over the latch.

Storage bin will not open

Had same problem with my Miramar. I ended open by pulling handle like you are opening latch. I held it out and drilled a small hole in the center of latch where the slide would be. I stopped when I hit the slide. Inserted a small awl or screw driver and pushed the latch back and it released the door. Found the screw had become loose.

Had the same problem with one of my compartments. Luckily there was a compartment next to it on the hinge side. I opened that compartment to get access to the hinge bolts on the malfunctioning compartment. Removed bolts and popped off the gas shock and totally removed door to gain access to the latch. Pretty simple after that.

Did you ever imagine that this could all be a training program; for us to become burglars?

Used hacksaw blade

We had same problem due to loose screws inside the latch. I was able to open the compartment to the right of the stuck one and use an old hack saw blade as a jimmy to push the latch of the stuck compartment open.
Took apart all the compartment locks and about half had loose screws that needed tightening.
I keep the old blade accessible for future use - if needed.
