LED Awning Lights

Hello,
I have a 2015 Thor Chateau with about a 14 ft LED awning light where most of the LED's stopped working. The channel for the LED light will hold a rope light and not the tape LED's. I don't want to buy a whole new channel, I just want to purchase an LED rope light that will be powered by 12 volts. For some reason, I can't find it anywhere, Camping World, Recpro, amazon...

Anyone have a suggestion where I can buy LED rope lights to fit back in that channel that is about 12-15 feet long?

Thanks, John

I got mine from Amazon but I didn't use the channel, it came with super sticky tape that I applied directly under the channel, been there for going on 3 years without any problems. It took about 30 minutes to attach the power and installed the lights under the channel. Amazon has a variety of suppliers that also sell different colored lights on the strip. I went from white to a Blue. Love it.

There are several on Amazon, some you'll need to cut to 14'
Here's a search for "12v led rope lights waterproof"

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=12v+led+r..._ts-doa-p_5_13

Be sure to update, with pictures

Any chance you can be more specific with that amazon search. almost all those that come up are 120v to be plugged into a standard outlet and not wired to the 12 volt power of the RV.

Second item in that search:

https://www.amazon.com/Brightness-Wa.../dp/B08NV9XKB9

The first item is twice as long, multi-colored, and cheaper and has a $3 coupon. It runs off 12 volts but includes an AC to DC power brick which you wouldn't use.

Mounting an LED strip below the awning is far superior to the strip in the awning roller channel. It allows the lights to be used even when the awning is not deployed and it allows you to see when the lights are on when the awning is rolled up. The ones in the awning roll die quickly due to overheating by being turned on inadvertently when the awning is rolled up.

Here's a trick for Amazon links.

Looking at the link from left to right you will see a
/ref?andabunchofcrapbehindit

Starting with the / in front of the ref everything to the right can be deleted. So you end up with:
https://www.amazon.com/Seagen-Awning...dp/B08PL12PW4/
for your link.

I was hoping to purchase a replacement rope, the mounting bracket on the camper is designed to hold the rope and not the tape. My bracket is attached to the side of the RV and not the actual awning. The bracket is screwed to the outside of the RV with about 20 screws. I'd rather not take them all out and leave that open for water to get in. See the pics that were added.

Our awning strip went out on our 2018 FE22. Turns out they had used a splash resistant strip that wasn't rated for outdoor use. I bought a waterproof strip from Aspect LEDs online and have tested it, but haven't yet installed it. It's rated for 50,000 hours of use. It won't fit in the track for the old strip, but I plan to install it in the next few days over the track using the mounting clips that Aspect sells as an accessory. That will put it at the same angle as the old strip. Cost about 50 bucks, with Louisiana's internet tax.
