Storage Compartments some mechanism for open/close support

Hi our 2020 vegas 1 storage compartment has a bracket to keep it open.
the onein th rear near the SP hookup. Most of th eothers swing open and close if not held. So if wind blows th door swing open side to side. Wondering if their is a reasonable easy fix for some control arm/

Really good question. I think a simple prop (hinged?) could do the job. Like a compact car’s hood support. It could a small 1/2x1/2 aluminum angle from the hardware store. A small piece with a bolt and nut for the hinge and just a hole on the other end to drop on a raised screw head.

I agree with gnach: Adding a something like the hydraulic struts that hold up a rear door on a hatchback will do the job.
In fact: I have them on my rig...

Be careful. You don’t want something so strong that the door will remain open if the lock fails while driving.

Had a latch fail on the Challenger when driving.

I believe that is why all the compartments opened forward. The engineers did get that part of the design right.

Or you can just do what TTs have done for decades:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C7NRF5K/

Basically $1 a door.

Ahhh...
It looks as if you mount it to the outer wall of your RV, and "catch" the door with it: holding it open...
