Storage cover question

I am putting our rv in storage for a couple months I have a proper breathable storage cover that I plan on using. I live in Surrey BC and it rains a lot some snow. The rv is wet and will be for many days now.
Does it matter if I use the cover on the wet rv? Since it will be out again in about 7 weeks do I Raven bother with the cover?

Go to the storage lot you are storing at and talk to the people there on what their opinion is. No one could probably tell you more than the folks there.

I personally can't recall anyone every talking about the covers on here. Expectantly someone who has one will chime in and help.

Our RV is covered, however I've never put the cover on when the RV was wet (or had any snow on it for that matter).

That is a good question; my suggestion would be to not cover it (the point of the cover is to keep it dry once its on--if you put it on wet now you have water under the cover).

Here in the Northeast its rare to see an RV that’s covered in the winter months. First it’s windy, it will loosen the cover and ultimately flap around. The cover shifting in the wind will scuff the paint, edges and corners especially. I use UV coating and a good marine wax before winter sets in and again in the spring when we get ready to move it out. It does get started and the generator run about every 2 weeks in addition.

Storage cover question

We are on Long Island, NY and have always covered our coach over the winter. As well, we when we were boaters we always covered our boats over the winter. A proper RV-specific cover is breathable (not “waterproof”), be made of non-scratching/scuffing inner material, and have several attachment points to ensure that it does not loosen or shift with the winds. Our cover has 14 cinch straps...under the coach and front and back that keeps it secure.
Over the years we have never had a cover cause damage to our coach’s finish. A cover best protects the RV from UV exposure, the elements in general, and keeps the coach cleaner come springtime.
At least that’s our experience and 2 cents. :-))Click image for larger version

We have a 29’ class A ACE. What cover brand do you recommend?
We are storing in our driveway in Connecticut this winter for the first time. (Last winterit was in sunny Florida- no cover).
Thanks
John

We have had an Adco cover for 5 years now.
One suggestion, any sharp protruding objects on the roof like radio antenna or the over air antenna cover with heavy plastic or cardboard prior to installing the cover. The cover will flex in the wind regardless of how tight it is cinched up. Keeping sharp edges covered will minimize damage to the cover.

Not a fan of covers. Moisture from the ground wicks upward and under them. Wind flapping them around can cause chafing and rub burns. Sensitive structure on roof can get broken or torn loose causing leaks later. Some love them...the exterior of the coach is designed to protect itself. Super long term storage indoors from dust, maybe. Temporary storage for just a month or two, not necessary. Whatever you do...don't cover a wet anything. That's a reverse purpose of the cover.
