Storage door rain molding

Does anyone have a link to some rain type molding for these rv storage doors. They open from the top and get wet when washing or in the rain.

Open the door.

Look at the mating surface on the RV frame. There "should" be a rubber seal that goes all around that frame that is supposed to keep the door water tight.

the locks and latches leak. When I first got my RV my daughter got inside with a flashlight while I hit it with a hose. She confirmed it

It has the rubber on the inside but still leaks. I think a rain molding would help it.

I use this in places as a secondary seal.
Try it.

Ah I can’t quite read it. Can you post a clearer picture.
Thanks, Steve

The idiots at Thor glued the seals on our storage compartments with the joint at the top. It shrinks a tad and allows water intrusion. I ripped them off and refluxed them with the gap at the bottom. Also look at the top edge of the door itself. One of mine was installed upside down with the weep holes on top.

Did you figure out how to seal the latches and lock. I think mine might also leak.

no, I never did. I think the types they use just aren't sealed. It's the mechanism, not just the installation nut and gasket. I think I remember finding some waterproof version of the cam locks and thumb locks once somewhere online, but I never bought any to try

If this really bothers you, I would remove the hardware and put it back on using a clear silicone to help it seal. Or if you wish, you can use Loctite 598 Silicone Gasket maker. It is what I used when I upgraded my outside speakers to be 100% sure of no leaks. My Gasket maker is black, but when you install it seals on the inside so there is nothing visible around the speakers.

I have similar non keyed latches on my propane tank door. If it leaks I would never know because there is no floor. I have never noticed any water in my storage compartments. But since you are seeing molding, you must take some action. Seems like it would easy to replicate if it is in fact the latches. Good luck
