What to do about the gps signal? I get nothing unless the RV sits in a spot, what seems overnight. Very frustrating. Thank you for any advise.

Hi, not sure I caught your meaning but I assume that you are saying the GPS is not working? GPS uses GPS satellite connections which are line of sight from your GPS antenna to the various satellites it can communicate with in space. So basically line of sight means no obstructions (like trees, mountains, and typically the RV roof (if the antenna is inside). So folks with satellite TV; satellite radio and GPS devices typically request camp sites with no trees or other potential sky/satellite obstructions. Not sure if this is what you were asking.

I use a satellite radio occasionally and tried to mount it in the fiberglass nose cone of my ACE years ago......not great, but it made sure the drop bed system worked at least. I found mounting the satellite radio antenna on an aluminum pie plate (use a tin can lid behind the pie plate for the antenna magnet to stick to) sitting on the passenger dash worked pretty well in lieue of mounting an antenna on the roof exterior. I guess that does not help your GPS situation though.

I fully understand gps.
I am not getting any signal / "signals" on my system. 2019 Windsport. I have found the "antenna" but I can't be the only one having issues.

Well the problem with a trouble forum is that those trying to help risk insulting others sometimes with the basics, but you would be surprised at how many folks new to RVing and all the coach systems, that do not understand any or basic systems operation.

Did your GPS ever work? Does resetting the radio have any impact? You could try removing the radio to make sure the GPS antenna is fully connected and not kinked somewhere. Where did you find the GPS puck antenna? I have read some people found them actually inside the dash.....which to me would not be a great place for good satellite reception......but sure easy for the factory to install.

Not sure this is your issue but I’ll throw it out there for what it’s worth....

I was speaking to a guy recently with a Thor Class C and his factory GPS or Sirius / XM were not working.

Thor told him to take it to Ford. After looking at the rig, Ford told him it appeared that Thor cut the antenna cables while assembling the rig and there was nothing they could do about it.

I told him to call Thor and book an appointment at the Thor Service Center to let them deal with it.

I found the antenna wedged in the corner of the dash. I pulled on the wire as much as I have dared so far and have looked for the wiring with no luck. My unit has shown location after sitting for awhile, it just shows no reception as I have started to move.

I am really frustrated with this system, especially with the lack of reach that the co-pilot has to the system.

I am going to try a full reset and try again
