SumoSprings SSF-106-40
To those more mechanically informed than I...
After reading many of the postings I have purchased the SSF-106-40 Springs for my Vegas. My question is this: once installed does the front end alignment need to be verified and/or redone?
I have an appointment for the NC required yearly safety inspection this Friday and I plan on having the Springs installed at that time. By noon I plan to be on a road trip to the mountains (Marion NC) so I want to know if the installation of the Springs will affect the frontend alignment.
Please advise.

The 40's did not change the height of our Axis thus I had assumed (right or not) that the alignment didn't change. It still steers the same with no pull.

Jamie,
Thanks. I did not see where anyone else mentioned doing the frontend alignment because of Sumos...but many have done the alignment as part of beefing up and improving the comfort of the suspension.

Doc,
The Sumo's replace the bump stops and preload the axle which helps control sway and the wallowing that the E chassis has .
Installing them on my Vegas didn't raise the front of the vehicle or change anything that would affect the alignment.
Sure did help coach handling though.
I've had mine on for about 2500 miles now, only positive things to report.

I think many have done the alignment first as its been stressed on the board here that it should be the first thing done. Many combine that with other stuff (which I find odd: Having all that done first means you'll never know what the coach started out as and you'll never know what all that stuff did and if any of it improved anything).

To align, or not, depends on if they change your ride height. My right side did not change but my low left side was lifted about 1/4 inch with the HD Sumo (-47). Due to the ride height change, my alignment should be checked/adjusted again.

Great, looks like an updated reline following the Sumos will not be needed. I can see the roadtrip getting off to an earlier start this Friday!
Thanks to those who responded already, all input is welcome!!!!!!!!!!!

Beware with some Sumo Springs with other mods in place
Word of caution. If you buy the Sumo springs that only replace the bump stops on the rear and have installed a rear axle stabilizer (BlueOx TigerTrac for example), you will not be able to install the Sumo springs without a modification to the Sumo spring bracket on the passenger side. I elected to return these bump stop replacement Sumo springs and will opt for the add on Sumo springs for the rear.

Tom,
Thanks for the headsup, but I'm just doing the front ones.
