ID:	22830for spring. Found another frayed cable. This will be second one replaced plus a gearbox. I have a replacement kit, and will replace cable before taking it to dealer for tweaking. Not sure cable will hold to retract slide.

While familiarizing myself with all the moving parts, I noticed the floor bracket is not flush with wall. Hopefully the tweaking will resolve this too. Lastly, the cable brackets above the slide were not adjusted as they should be. I'm pretty sure the poor alignment is the main culprit in the cable issues.

Ok, reviewed several utube videos, read the instructions that came with the replacement cable, etc. Started on cable replacement this morning. All good so far. Cut the remaining 2 strands to the old cable and attached to new cable using the supplied connector. Suppose to be able to pull new cable thru pulley system using old cable. Worked fine initially. Then the cable became bound in the pulley system and won't budge. Haven't been able to determine why, but will continue when rested[emoji3]. More later

If one of the pulleys has torn off its cuff(edge rib which makes the cable track) the cable is going to slide off onto the pulley shaft, wedge, fray, bind.

You've got a bad pulley.

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind. It's difficult to get a good view of what's going on. I think the pulley tolerance is preventing the cable from sliding through with mesh connection. If it's a bad pulley, it's above my pay grade.

Follow up to repairs. Pulley ok, we had to jack up the slide slightly to take pressure off pulley system. Replacement cable went in as it should. The frayed cable is the result of poor alignment from the factory. See pics.

Attachment 22879I'm going to try to correct that. The cable is a 5/32nd, make sure you get the right crimping tool if you plan to repair it yourself. Also, it takes considerable arm strength to operate the tool. I'm replacing my spare cable kit, but I'm adding two cable clamps for on the road repairs. Should hold if needed to get to a repair shop.Click image for larger version

Thought I was going to finish this project today. Was in the process of final adjustments when I discovered that two of the rear cables had been wrapped around the other two during a dealer repair of another frayed cable two years ago. I'm amazed the slide worked at all. Gotta love it.
