Tankless Water Heater

We recently purchased a 2018 Thor Chateau which has tankless water heater.... the problem is we are having low water pressure which seems to be affecting the water heater. It doesn't stay on. To take a shower, we are having to turn on the shower water along with another faucet to make the heater turn on..... and as soon we turn on some cold water so we can get "warm" water, the heater turns off.... all of this also only gives a little more than a trickle of water..... Has anyone else had this issue??

Water pressure is every thing on those tankless heater. Get an adjustable regulater set it at 55 PSI . Dose it happen on shore water or pump water?

Shore water... we were connected to the campground water. Tried using hot water from bathroom sink this morning, but the tank never kicked on.

You do need to insure that you've got adequate pressure. I use a 55 psi regulator, and it works great!

I was also told to set the hot water temperature to where I wanted it to be. ( I use 110 for my showers.) That way: you never have to even touch the cold water faucet!

I've been having this exact same problem (in fact my post is just below yours at the moment). I undid all my lines this weekend, made sure they were clear and put teflon tape on all the threads. I now have amazing pressure. I set mine to 113F and never touch the cold water.

Hot water setting? mine is way too hot. Didn't know it was adjustable. Have to look for the adjustment.

If you are having problems with your tankless water heater (TWH), you might try these tips. First, adjust temperature on wall control panel to desired shower temperature and only turn on hot water handle in shower. Second, shut off or disconnect city water connection and use fresh water tank with water pump - On, if a low pressure City Water Connection is suspected. These should help out in most situations. Caution, when you hear beeping from the TWH panel, that is a warning that you are about to get ice cold water, turn handle off or preferably spray shower water away until it warms back up in a few moments. Hope this helps!

That's a good idea about using your tank if the City Water pressure isn't up to snuff!

I use a fixed pressure regulator and a Camco Pure Taste (Blue cylinder) in-line water filter before the water enters the motorhome. There is also a whole house water filter inside. I know this set-up reduces the shower faucet pressure. So, my question is, do I really need to use a pressure regulator? I have been RVing for 30+ years and so used to a pressure regulator that I am afraid NOT to use one. What are your thoughts? Thank you!

Had the exact same issue in my 2018 Synergy. After lots of reading it’s clear that you should only use the hot water, never turn on cold to mix in. Set the TWH setting to around 104 or whatever suits you, and leave it. Turn on only the hot water and it should warm up in 15-20 seconds. Also, switch to your tank and turn on the water pump. Relying on city water connect is unreliable. I also switched out the shower head to an Oxygenics and it improved the force of the spray.

I bought a fixed pressure water pressure regulator, but have not needed to use it, because all of the parks have been 40 psi or less. I read in one of these responses that 53 psi is near optimum.

That seems to be a pretty good number (and water pressure!) to use.

I think that the key is to have enough pressure to allow the system to work properly.
But it would be nice if they'd tell us what "enough pressure" actually means.
