Third Brake Light install

My 2015 Fourwinds only had the standard rear lights. I want to install a third brake light. Has anyone did this, can the wires be fished inside the rear body of the coach?

I would consult Thor techs as to wiring diagrams and get their advice on routing of wires. There may be an unused wire in the harness already set up for this that you can tap into.

I looked into the possibilities of how to reasonably do it and gave up for now. Keep us posted if you find a solution. We went so far to install LED side marker/turn lights fore and aft. The way the wiring is set up on the E450 the rear marker lights do light up when the brakes are activated. Not a big deal. Like I said, I am interested if you find a solution.

Do you have a wiring harness for a hitch? It might be easier to track down the circuit for the brakes from that, and then just wire your new brake-light down to it...

I've been thinking about doing that for a while now.

What I really want is one of those flashing strobes as the third light, but haven't found one I like yet. I like the ones that strobe a few flashes when it comes on then burns steady. I've seen them on various things on the road...buses, ambulances, and even motorcycles.... well, what I've seen is something that flashes the existing lights. I've been hoping to come across a deal on something with the strobe function built in and that would be easy to mount

I figured that on mine the easiest thing by far would be to mount something down around the hitch, or just above it on the rear wall. that way wiring is easy, either into the taillight harness directly or using the trailer connector.

I bought some little LED strips sold as a brake light for motorcycles and such, form ebay, but never installed them. They weren't bright enough in my thinking...

Yes I want those too, but I need light installed high on back to clear our car on tow dolly

Look to the motorcycle lighting sources, for a flashing brake-light.
Don't sell the LED light short: they're brighter than you think...

You could always make them blink in the pattern you want on your own with a simple Ardunio microcontroller.

No matter how many brake-lights you add to your vehicle: There's always going to be some nit-wit out there who won't see them!
