Thor 2017 Awning lubrication

Are there any lubrication points for this awning, it is making a noise when retracting.

Hi, you don't identify your coach or awning details. I don't know if there are stated lubrication requirements stated by any current awning makers. I have a Carefree Travelr unit on my old ACE and I have removed the end caps to lightly spray chain lube spray lightly on gears and bearing points in my awning. I don't full time or Winter camp so not sure if chain lube is the best for those situations. Once in 7 years (recently) is all I have done and so far it operates like day one (famous last words).

PS to my post: The pictures are before lightly spraying with chain lube. If you zoom in on the picture of the idler end of the awning, you can see on the bearing ring some traces of rust showing. Personally I don't like how this awning is constructed, but it is what I have. One example, if the motor fails with awning retracted against the side of the coach, there is no easy way to access the awning cap screws (on top when deployed) to be able to access the motor etc.

Awning noises when retracting...

Mike, did you find source of the noise? I have a 2018 Axis 24.1, and when retracting the awning, there is a loud noise coming from the aft end. First it was barely noticeable, but getting louder on subsequent activations.
