Thor 22e ford e350 rear camera

I purchased a 2018 Thor 22e. The previous owner upgraded the rear camera wiring. Everything worked well for 3 years. I just changed out my 2 house batteries and now the rear camera is saying no signal”. Everything else in coach is working fine. What might I have done or is there a fuse or reset I need to do?

Since none of us have any idea HOW the camera wiring was upgraded, all you can get are guesses. If the radio says "No Signal" it is likely the power to the camera is gone.

Do tail and reverse lights work?
Have you checked all chassis/under dash/under hood fuses?
Have you verified all wires were reconnected to the batteries correctly?

It's hard to troubleshoot when you don't know how it was wired.

His comments were that original wires were small and had k own issues so he just upgraded the connections at the camera. All connections are still per factory. He said in giving issues check connection at radio, I did that but I can’t find a schematic that shows what should be plugged into which connection. Nothing is loose. I hooked the batteries exactly the way he had them, they were fine the first 3 years that way. Seems odd that camera stops working after battery change. Wondering if there is a reset or something I may have bumped or need to bump.

Well, there's only two connections at the radio:

The RCA Video cable, and
The "Trigger" wire that switches the radio to show the camera.

The fact that you get the "No Signal" when in reverse (making an assumption) would tell you that the trigger is working.

So you have a loss of video signal from the camera, which may be just coincidental with the battery change.

But no video signal from the video camera can be caused by:

No power to the camera, or
The camera not being properly plugged into the radio. or
A poor/bad connection between the camera and radio.

Are there any schematics available for the axxerra radio that show the rear camera rca jacks? Mine has an rca jack plugged in and another jack (probably the trigger) screwed in right next to it. And yes the trigger is working.

A schematic just shows electrical connections. You want to see what the RCA cable is plugged in to. To do that you need your Axxera radio manual that may show you all the physical connections.

Considering that hew just changed the batteries, I would check to see if the camera was hooked up to the ignition wire on the BIM or BIRD and came disconnected when messing with the battery wires. Getting my house batteries in and out was like performing surgery while standing on my head. I feel pretty lucky that I didn't pull out a wire or damage a connection.

There is a small hole at the top left of the Axxera radio that is used to reset the feautures associated with the radio. To reset, turn on the radio, then insert paper clip and hold the reset for about 15 seconds. Radio should have gone off during reset. Turn the head unit back on and see if camera is working

If the RCA jack is plugged in and everything else works on the radio, you may have a fried connector at the rear where the camera plugs into the harness.

My class C has a curved panel at the rear ceiling... it's just stapled in place. If yours has one, carefully pry the panel loose. The camera cable comes in through a hole right behind the upper tail light. The camera cable plugs in to a harness, (RCA) which carries the signal to the radio in front.

Mine had shorted and was replaced under warranty. If the camera is toast, they're available here...
